What's up everyone?

I was just wondering what the Finheaven faithful think about the rookies drafted this year. I would like to know your answers and why. Thanks!

1. Which rookie will have the most starts overall?
2. Which rookie will have the biggest impact on offense?
3. Defense?
4. Special Teams?
5. Overall?

I'll start:

1. I think Ted Ginn, Jr. can be inserted here simply because it looks as if he is slotted as our starting KR. I think Cam will let him work from there and maybe slowly insert him into 3rd-down situations. I can see him starting all 16 games at KR barring injury or absolute poor play. In all honesty, I can see Ginn returning at least one kickoff for a TD this year based purely on his speed and field vision. I cannot wait to see him in action!

2. I would like to put Sam Satele here, and although he looks to be the starting C, Cam has shown early that he has no issue in letting his players know he is not happy with play by putting someone else in his place. Drew Mormino knows what I am talking about. I think would be very difficult for a rookie C to start the entire season. But who knows?
My choice is Lorenzo Booker. Some say he was underutilized in college. He surely will get a chance to prove himself in this offense. I think he brings a nice 1-2 punch to Miami's offense. He gives Ronnie a chace to breathe and has a nice skillset. Ricky who?

3. This is a tough one because Miami focused mainly on the offense this draft. With that, I think with the release of Fred Evans (who many considered a near-future starting/rotational DT), Paul Soliai could crack the starting rotation at DT with Traylor. I think he has good competition with Vickerson, but this is about rookies. He is a big, strong fella with good athleticism. This will only be his 3rd season at DT, so he may still be more of a developmental type player. There were not many to choose from here.....

4. Ted Ginn, Jr. No explanation necessary!

5. This is very tough, but I am going to have to go with Ted Ginn, Jr. on pure potential alone. I was concerned about the pick at first, but am beginning to see why Miami chose him at 9 (regardless of injury). He could really help out in field position, which could translate into more touchdowns. Miami scored less points than the Houston Texans last year! Let us hope Ginn can help change this.

I am looking forward to comments....

1. Samson Satele - should start every game at C.

2. Samson Satele again - without him Trent Green has less time to throw the ball to Ted Ginn and Lorenzo Booker doesn't have a hole run through.

3. Paul Soliai - not really fair as Abraham Wright and Kelvin Smith aren't going to be seeing the playing time that Soliai will. I would have said Brandon Fields in giving helping with the field position, but he's a P and not a true defensive player.

4. Ted Ginn Jr. simply because he'd better make an impact if he's not going to be starting at WR. I'd hope he'd make more of an explosive impact than Fields in this area as Ginn will help the offense with field position on kick/punt returns.

5. I'll take overall with a broad meaning and say John Beck in terms of what's going to happen down the road in seasons to come. For this year, I'll say either Samson Satele just because he's the C, the pivot and anchor of this restructured O-line, or Ted Ginn because he is just explosive every time he touches the ball, at least he was at Ohio State and I don't see him being any different as a Miami Dolphin as long as that foot is fully healed.

All of them at every position!
We "need" almost every rookie we picked this year plus a couple of rookie FA 's to be productive if the Dolphins are to be sucessful this year. Lets face it we all know there will be injuries and only at the LB position would I feel comfortable if someone goes down. We have "zero" veteran depth at the OL and DL positions, a weak secondary as far as we know at this point with Goodmen hurt too, zero depth at RB behind Ronnie, medorcre depth at the QB, WR and TE positions, a rookie punter. This group will be led by a rookie coach who will attempt to wear 2 hats at once as both a offensive coordinator and head coach. It will be interesting to say the least!

1. Which rookie will have the most starts overall? Satele (We have no offensive line depth or enough veteran players so he is a must to produce from day 1)
2. Which rookie will have the biggest impact on offense? Booker possible Satele (I see Ronnie going down hurt again so Booker will have to step up plus Cam's offense should be suited to Booker catching the ball out of backfield from Day 1 if he goes down it goes ot Satele by default because he will be on the field from Day 1)
3. Defense? Soliai (Traylor has bad knees and there is no=one behind him)
4. Special Teams? Fields (We need a good punter and have no-one else)
5. Overall Lets hope its Ginn (We picked him in the top 10 so he needs to produce like a top 10 pick should)

1. Solai
2. Booker
3. Nothing
4. No need answer, comon punter do you job
5. Ted Ginn I little of everything

1) I don't really consider kick returner to be a starting position, so I'll have to go with Satele on this one. As of now he is our starting center, and barring a disaster, should remain there for the season.

2) Booker. Rookie running backs generally have one of the easiest transitions from college to the pros. Ronnie has yet to prove he can carry the load offensively, so Booker should see a decent number of touches. I think Satele will have the bigger impact of the two, but not necessarily the biggest positive impact.

3) Soliai. Unless Abe Wright has an excellent pre-season, I don't think he will see enough playing time to make much of an impact. Soliai should see quite a few snaps this year with Fred Evan's departure and be the main backup to Traylor now.

4) Ginn. When you spend a top ten pick on a guy who is primarily a kick returner, you better pray he is more productive than your seventh round punter.

5) Booker. If we can get him involved early on in the year, he could become a very effective playmaker, or at least a decoy. I'm thinking a poor man's Reggie Bush here, something along the lines of 500 yards rushing, 40 catches, and a few big plays along the way.

Ok i dont know about what you said about ronnie he can easily carry the load nick saban had hiim on a leash with 15 carries a game and if you think hes injury prone the injury he had last season was unordinary.

I think they all need to step up and hopefully they will. Our 2 years under Nicky boy are a royal mess and that alone will hurt us in future years, but less so if we can put together two or three good drafts.

I'm not saying he is incapable of carrying the load at running back, but he has done nothing to prove he can yet. Yes, the injury he had last year was somewhat of a fluke, but it doesn't change the fact that he hasn't played a full season yet. To this point, I'd have to say Ronnie has been a big dissapointment so far in Miami. I know the line play hasn't been great, but he is under 2,000 yards rushing, only has 60 catches, and 10 TD's in two years. Those numbers are solid, but not for the second pick in the draft.

I think Booker's change of pace style should lead to a good rookie season for him.

I would have expected Ronnie to have done a little better, but no one can predict injuries. I think anyone's hand would have been broken on that particular hit. He was having a productive, though somewhat unspectacular, season up until the injury. This year is his boom or bust year, IMO. I still have faith in him and think Cam can work the offense towards Ronnie's strongpoints. If Cam is good at one thing, it is molding the offense around the players' abilities.....
