Which scenario is more likely to happen?

Scenario #1: The Chiefs don't trade their 2nd round pick for Surtain until day 1 of the draft when it's time for them to use that pick and they realize that nobody at that spot will help them as much next year as Surtain.

Scenario #2: The Chiefs trade either a 1st or a 2nd round pick in 2006 after the 1st day of the draft is over.

Not with the cap hit Surtain will cause for other teams. It's not as if no one wants Pat (including us), it's just the dent he'll cause in their overall limit.

The Cheifs and Surtain "has" agreed to terms on a contract.
