Which sport's records do you think will never be broken.

Baseball:

1. Cy Young, Most Wins Pitcher (511) and Most Losses (316).
2. Cal Ripken, Most Consecutive Games Played (2632).
3. Ricky Henderson, Career Steals (1406)

Hockey:

1. Wayne Gretzky, Most Points in a Season (215)

Basketball:

1. Wilt Chamberlain, Most Points Game (100), Most Consecutive Games Over 50 Points (7).

i agree with all of them, i cant think of any others offhand, although i think Ricky Henderson's steal record could be broken eventually

Wilt's record will be broken. Everything will have to fall right, but when Kobe is going for 81, someone will come along and break that record. It is very doable.

Cy Youngs' record will NEVER be broken. Unless of course, they drastically change the rules of the game. Or we are somehow are able to advance science far enough along that pitchers pitch into their 50's and 60's.

I really think Dimaggio's streak will be broken and relatively soon. Too many players recently are snififng around into the 30's for it not to topple. One could argue that in the modern day and age of baseball, with so many pitching specialists that it won't happen, but it is bound to fall eventually.

Hugh Duffy in 1894 hit .440 for the Boston Beaneaters. The highest batting average in a season in the big leagues. I think that record is safe...

Duffy won the triple crown that year also leading the league in hr's (18) and RBI's (145).

Speaking of which, with the steroid era seemingly winding down (god I hope) I think the RBI record for a single season is safe as well (Hack Wilson with 190 in 1930 in only 156 game season to boot.)

A couple of hockey records fro me...

Bobby Orr: Highest plus/minus in one NHL season (+124; 1970-71). Plus 124 for a defenseman!

Bobby Orr: Most assists in one NHL season by a defenceman (102; 1970–71).

Oleg Salenko's 5 goals in a single game during a World cup....

And certainly Just Fontaine's 13 goals in one single World cup

gretzky's career point total.....noone will ever SNIFF it....ever

50 goals in 32 games....good luck with that one

Johnny Vander Meer throwing back to back NO HITTERS

Nobody will ever break that one

Just imagine what sports will be like in 25 years, if they even exist then. It's like we'll have robots playing sports and referring the games.

I think all the records will fall eventually. Though with the NHL, I see it becoming extinct at some point, with soccer taking it's place

Why wouldn't they exist  sports will exist as long as people do IMO.
