Which option would've you preferred?

I would've preferred what we have now, Culpepper. He is honestly the best combination of athleticism, smarts, and injury situation that we could've gotten. With a new coaching staff such as ours, he won't be considered such a "choke artist" or fumbling machine (possibly) for us in this season and so on.

Without looking at the stats and the comparisons, I prefered Drew Brees... but after reading the Manifesto and hearing Saban talk about how Culpepper fits our team the best, I changed my mind.

For some reason I was scared of Brees. I just never thought he was that great.

Culpepper because I believe he is better and it was his knee not his arm that got injured.

Because of his torn labrum? And maybe his one whole good year? Or 10 million a year contract??

I would have liked a great rookie only because of the miles that Culpepper has on him.

I originally preferred Brees, and so did the majority of the board judging by all the threads this past week.
But i was extremely happy either way when we got culpepper and think it was an excellent move by Saban.

i dont think "miles" would be a correct term for a qb.. i think that only fits with a runningback really.. but i do know what you mean. but culpepper i think is in his prime.. i say that because he has experience and he knows the game better then he did in the past. quarterbacks tend to make better decisions as they get older. if he heals well and doesnt reinjure himself, his best football could be ahead of him.

Cullpepper ALL the way.. I think Drew Brees will be a BUST for #10 million... He couldnt get to the playoffs with LT and Gates..... ARE U KIDDING .. its because HE SUX

Heres my little algorithm:

(QB) + (GREAT RB) + (GREAT TE) + (ABOVE AVG O-Line) + (B+ recievers)
and couldn't get to the playoffs.

here are some examples for QB..... Ferotte, Feeley, Feidler, ... etc.

Iv always wanted Culpepper, he is going to be great for us. I thought it was a pipe dream for us to actually get him. Miami will understand why Im so excited to have him when he displays his talent in our system this year.

Haha, very good point. It really isn't easy to have all of that talent arount a "good" QB and not make at very least a wildcard spot. But what does it matter now that we have the better of the two.

I wanted DC since i first heard about him wanting to leave the vikings. Despite the 2nd round pick we had to give up it may be the best thing i could have imagined for this offseason. He's such an amazing player with all the abilities you could ask for. I'm really glad he's with the fins now and for years to come.

I was never that high on brees. I feel it's just not hard to pull up good stats if you have the best recieving RB and the best TE in this league on your team. Those are always easy targets to keep the offense moving.

I was a little concerned about both.
Brees' shoulder scared me as much as Pep's knee....
I guess I was on the fence either way.

If both are 100% healthy and money didn't matter, I would choose Brees. But after seeing Culpepper's salary and seeing what Brees signed for, I'm like who we got.
