The first rule of Dolphins fandom… don’t get relaxed with the Phins. Getting too comfortable will hurt you. I hold know this by now… but I forget too easily.

I almost always try to be as even-keeled as I can… on this one I’m riding with emotions.
From the opening drive, the feeling of a ‘long day coming’ was in the air. The dread grew more palpable with each minute that passed. Albert Wilson going down was true ‘shock and awe’ from the football gods.

So here we are, heading into Week 8 with whiplash: After a great win last week, Miami has hit a wall going 95 MPH…

…and now they are tumbling towards the embankment of collapse… wounded, beaten, and humiliated.

Add insult to injury, the game wrapped up with DeVante Parker’s agent calling Adam Gase incompetent. That was cold BTW. Talk about kicking a guy in the %^$ when he’s down.

Collapse is definitely coming, probably 4-6 or best case 5-5 at the bye. But honestly a complete collapse will probably be better than limping to 7-9 or 8-8 given we need to accumulate draft capital for 2020.

I’m not anti-Gase and haven’t been anti-Thill (though I no longer think he’s part of the answer). The football gods really stuck it to us this year and we had a small window we could have squeaked through if everything went right. But that window is closing and we need a major infusion of talent at the most important positions, especially QB. So basically a rebuild...

Ross won't want ANYONE gone if we finish with a losing season because he'll blame it 100% on injuries.

Shuffling coaches hasn't solved anything in 20 years. The thought I come back to every once in a while is that... remember Jeff Fisher? That guy was head coach of Tennessee for 14 years -- 6 of those years they had a winning record, and in 4 of those years they were 8-8. They even went to a Superbowl, and Fisher sucks. But in the last 20 years, what's the best record the Dolphins have managed? 11-5? Jeff Fisher's Titans went 13-3 three times and 12-4 once during that span of time.

We need to get a grip, Dolphins fans. The front office needs to find a good QB and fill the roster with talent. Unless Adam Gase is just totally inept, surely he's as good as Jeff Fisher. Right?

It's one of the biggest issues with Gase, the huge swings of ups and downs you get with this team. It's impossible to guess what the team will do from one week to the next. One week they look great and the next like they weren't ready to play.

I will say, Miami does better when they stick to the run. Drake has been so underused this year. He had what six carries against the Lions? This is frustrating considering Drake's talent level and big-play ability. I'd like to see a game plan that gets the ball in his hands closer to 15 times a game.

Anyway, the Houston game is pretty huge. The Dolphins really need to win this one to turn the momentum back around.

If phinsnews.com says it then it must be true

A collapse?...….we would have had to been good in the first place to achieve that.

Not a complete collapse just enough to have a stay in a 6-7 win area

I’m just glad we found our long-term starting RB this season. Frank Gore looks like a future HOF’er and should be here for years to come. Full credit to Adam Gase for unearthing this guy.

After seeing how terrible Kenyan Drake has been for this team, we really needed an answer at RB.

With the RB position locked down by Gore for the next 5-6 years, we can focus on finding a QB this offseason.

Is there a medal for sarcastic post of the year? I want to nominate this.
