What did OC expect calling all those run plays(2 throws) any QB would end up getting killed. They did nothing but say make plays with your legs. Insane

How dare you come on here and make sense! Just look at the formation of the play he got hurt on, not one WR on the field. Even the series before that, the defense was within 8 yards of the line of scrimage. For the life of me I can't understand why we didn't throw deep once!

The staffs big mistake was thinking White could run the offense. The only reason he was elevated to 2nd string was so that he could be utilized on a handful of plays a game. As soon as the staff was aware that Henne would not be returning, they should have immediately put Thigpen in. That would've also meant that White couldn't enter the game but that probably would have been a blessing at this point.

He was setup for failure when TT came in they open the play book for him

ha, anyone expecting him to succeed is foolish

he's running a high school offense against one of the fastest and hardest hitting teams in the NFL

yeah, thats bound for success

Well the FO that he was ready the same ones that picked Henne

Did White even attempt a pass since overthrowing Ted Ginn in game one? Everyone knew he wasn't going to pass. TT boy looked great following that act.

Yea he threw a couple more times all incompletions

haha i gotta say i agree i mean i know his strength is his legs but u gotta let dude throw down the field... he was getting smacked around... They left him out there to die... sux but its tru.

Maybe we call only runs for him because he throws like a 12 year old girl.

Aside from the Ginn bomb where he somehow overthrew him by a good 10 yards, it seems every other pass skips to the WR.

This is one of the most intellegent posts I've seen on here in a while. Not that there wasn't others, but on the subject of Pat White...you are dead on with this one. The plays he was given, were a set up for disaster. Like WTF??

What should of happened was the offense continued to run exactly as if Henne was still in the game. Not saying to Pitt that there's no WR's lined up, it's gonna be a Pat White option to the strong side. Bc that just set up disaster for when they did call a pass for White. He didn't even drop back yet & that blitz had 3 Steelers in the backfield before White could even attempt to look down the field. That was not Pat White's fault. That was Henning changing the calls into plays that a team up 31-0 in the 4th qtr would run.

Which is just a continuation of Henning's failure, & whoever approved this decision to change the whole offense arounnd in the middle of the season. I understand that Ronnie was out for the season, but Ricky could of held down enough of the WildCat down for us to continue to use what was working. The WildCat is a gimmick formation for 31 teams, but for us, it is beautiful. Every team we faced feared us running the WildCat & had to spend so much time preparing for it so that we didn't do to them what we did to NE in 08, Jets, Colts, etc when it broke even the strongest D's up this year. I know Ronnie was the major player in the success of it, but we could of just used a little less, not wipe it off the board completely. And then come out with this whole different offense overnight, if anything it should of been slowly transitioned, not just overnight. It's the major reason we lost the majority of the 2nd half of the season. Almost every analyst praised Miami for being the only team to use the WildCat very effectively, & worked with most teams, a few shut it down but not many. Idk...this is just my opinion, I just think that we changed our offense drastically right when we had a rhythm going...I just don't understand Henning at all. He called bad plays for Henne, just as he did White. But as stated in another thread, the FO knew the playoffs were out of reach, so we just played lax at White's expense for the draft pick. Henning is hit or miss with his calls, which to me says sometimes he gets lucky. I think it's time for a new OC that knows how to utilize our talent. What works for one team, can be a complete disaster for another team. And that's where the good OC's get seperated from the bad, when it's time to change & adapt, you either use your talent right or wrong. I think that we used our talent completely wrong in the 2nd half of the season. Henne would of had a lot better numbers than he did with the right offense being run. I think it started in the 2nd half of the Saints game, & just haven't looked right since.

Sorry for getting off topic there. I just wanted to vent for a minute, now I'm looking forward to 2010, & hopefully makng the changes needed & getting the Division title next year. We need to own this div, not NE. It's our turn, & we're close...only a few more additions & we'll be a serious contender with a lot of young talent, which will solidify year after year. I have a lot of faith for 2010, I think Henne will be a lot more efficient, & make this his team by becoming a leader with his first year under his belt. And a lot of other players too, I believe will be a lot better...Davis, Smith, Hilliard, Hartline, Bess, Cam, & Maybe, just maybe Ginn could become a pretty good contributor to our offense. Good things ahead.

I couldnt agree more, if we have the same OC we take a step back. You play to your strengths CP was not Henne is not White Henne only improve with a new OC

It was clear that the coaching staff had no confidence in his ability to pass which brings into question whether they were actually developing him as a QB. They spent a year developing him as a quarterback and yet didn't trust him to pass the ball.

then why did they put him in there if they werent going to let him throw it, it was the 3rd quarter DH needs to be held accountable i could care less PW but he is a fin and to send him out there to run the ball and a banged RW what was the point either throw it or get him out of there.

I said it to my friend that it was the coaching staff that has most of the blame in White's injury. They would never do that to Henne even if he could run. My brother even asked during whole thing if they don't think Pat can throw ball, why is he running so much. Then next thing I see is threads on how White's too small for NFL. Like there are a ton of players that could have come out of not having a concussion in a helmet to helmet hit like that.
