I posted this in the Pat White bandwagon fan. I thought it deserved a thread because it has good clips of henne and white.

Okay in all seriousness. Henne is a great QB. But many of you have to realize Pat White is also a QB and not a WR. He is also a great QB who appears to be "better" than Henne.

Pat White at the Combine vs. Henne. White is Incredibly more athletic.

Interviews: Pat White has much more personality and looks like he can get Real fired up. Henne looks and talks as if he has no personality, so to speak (not that it means anything). But he does look and sound like a leader, as does pat white. Both are Class acts.

Actual Game highlights of henne and white. White is a Smart passer who always puts the ball where the defenders can't get it. A lot of "Wow" throws. Henne can throw that deep ball pretty darn good. But so can White. One thing about Henne is he can throw the "bullet." But I'm sure Henne has learned much from Pennington this past year.

When I compare the game footage I try to be real non-bias. (I stated earlier that White clearly the better QB, but with some thinking..) Henne is the better More traditional style QB where as White is a whole different breed of QB. For instance, can you compare Vick's style to that of Marino's?

EDIT: I'm not saying Henne sucks or anything. Henne is a Very good QB. I just think Pat White is simply Better. (White in my eyes is more athletic, makes great decisions, and brings versatility)

EDIT #2: They are both such good QBs who play Very different styles of football and who have played in very different offensive styles. Someone posted on the forums about having a 2QB team. Maybe something like UM did but with better results. Have Henne be #1 QB and White #2 and split the snaps. Sounds crazy, but they both bring such a different feel to the game. It could almost be like two teams in one. A team with two very different "styles" of offenses.

Henne: I could not find many highlight reels of Henne.

Pat White shows that he has a Strong arm and good pocket presence for any doubters. Also note Hakeem Nicks is a Stud. Too bad we couldn't have gotten both!

Oh, and just for the record...White scares a lot of fans, including me.
You know why? Because, since Dan the Man left, we have all been holding our breath hoping for the prototypical pocket passer with the big arm... The qb of the future.

Just when we seem to be getting close, and seem to be 1 year away...

Bill Parcells and Co. say - "hey, not so fast"....and we could be looking at the future of the Miami Dolphins based upon the idea that a crazy college/beachfootball-type scheme could actually work in our league.

To make it even crazier, this team's offensive strategy could very well be reliant on the skill-set that is only posessed by one person.

In other words, if we really go down this road, and I mean REALLY go down this road, then we could be held hostage by being reliant upon one player who cannot be replaced.

I am still not sure what to make of this pick. The guy is an incredible football player however and that is undeniable.

Living in the northwest, I did not get to see much of him in college. Based upon the videos you post, he has incredible vision and moves as a runner. I hear he is also a good thrower. Hopefully his lack of height, the size of NFL linemen and the speed of the NFL game will not have too much negative impact on his game.

I am anxious to see how this works out.

Oh and thanks for the post and the research too!

Its gonna work like it always has. Base offense then wildcat. White will work out of base offense too, which if you think about it, that makes the wildcat more dangerous cus there is no surprise as far as the personell and then we go in motion out of base offense and it becomes a wildcat play.

I am also thinking about those Louis Polite plays up the middle with White at QB. LB's will hesitate and watch White instead of maybe going after Polite on 3rd/4th and one.

Great Post... Good analysis.. This will definantly stur up great discussions on which Qb is better.

hes not nearly on the same level as vince young. look at how vince dominated in college. the bad thing is that type of player fails in the nfl. they thrive when they are better than the guys they face in college, but when they get to the pros they cant run away from everyone. speed kills and the pros are alot faster than college.

Umm, statistically speaking, none of these QBs were more dominant overall than Pat White. Plus, Young and Vick are not real smart guys. White is well spoken and seems fairly intelligent. That goes a long way in the NFL. Ask Zach Thomas. EVeryone said he was too small, but he has more career tackles than any HOF linebacker. Mike Lombardi keeps coming on NFLN saying he loves this pick and swears he will contribute much more than as a Wildcat specialist.

I got the passing stats from the dude who started this thread.

http://www.finheaven.com/forums/f2/whites-stats-compared-to-other-dual-threat-qbs-248634.html

He looks faster than his 40 time when he he is on the field and it almost looked like he wasn't pushing it on his 40 yard dash at the combine.

He needs to put on about 15 lbs of muscle.

while White's physical skills are a tad bit below Young's, his open field skills and arm are equal. throwing accuracy isnt even close. what really killed Young's career is his low football and actual IQ. dont forget he tore up the league as a rookie, but couldnt adjust to the adjustments the defense made the next year. White really seems to have the mental makeup to make it on the next level.

I am confident that Pat White is capable of being a successful starting quarterback in the NFL, and I am confident that he will provide legitimate competition for the 2nd string QB spot. I am not sure why many of you think he was signed to be a wildcat only player. His stats and experience indicate a talented quarterback. I still believe that Henne will win the spot, but he will have to prove it.
