DAVIE - The Miami Dolphins are just in helmets and shorts, but second-round pick Pat White got his first crack at the Wildcat offense during the team's organized training activity session today.

White lined up as a receiver while tailback Ronnie Brown took snaps from center.

When asked if that's how White will be used in the Dolphins' offense, coach Tony Sparano cracked a smile and said, "I don't know."

As a quarterback during rookie minicamp earlier this month White's NFL inexperience wasn't apparent, but during today's session the glove-wearing lefty threw a number of balls far beyond the reach of his targeted receivers.
White was visibly (and audibly) frustrated during the OTA session, but both he and Sparano know it's just part of transitioning from college to the NFL.

it is very very early though and im sure he will get use to it

Where in that link does it say he is struggling with the Wildcat specifically?

Well, they said even Ronnie was struggling with the Wildcat last year when they first started using it in practice, it just takes time.

Oh my gosh, what's going on during these May OTAs???? Better man the lifeboats: the sky is falling!

Incidentally, just heard Mad Dog Mandich recounting a conversation he had a few weeks back with Rich Rodriguez where R/Rod raved on and on about what a great player White is and that among so many great attributes, his best quality is "adaptability"

The guy has to come in and adjust to the NFL, let alone adjust to the wildcat......please be patient

At least he's over-throwing and under-throwing receivers...That's a lot easier to correct.

How come?

Being sarcastic or hinting at some kind of smokescreen?

I simply refuse to believe anything negative about Pat White. I doubted the pick, but, everyone has told me he will, single handedly make this offense among the best, if not THE best in the NFL. So, since I have been properly screamed at and, called a bad fan, or worse, a Patriot fan since I didn't buy into the pick lock stock and, barrel, I now see the error of my ways. I have converted to the lord, our savior, Pat White. He *is* perfection. Therefore, he can do no wrong. It is all just part of Pat White's plan for all of us.

That's true....over throwing is usually attributed to bad footwork....not being set to throw....bad footwork in this case....(and in most cases...like the beginning of a game) is probably attributed to nerves...not being settled...trying to absorb too much information at once...etc...

Contrition is the first step towards redemption my son...(and is usually accompanied by a generous charitable contribution to a goodwill agency like "The Vaark Home For Wayward Nymphos). Hopefully you'll do the right thing.

I repeat, where does that article say he struggled in the wildcat? It says he lined up as a WR, and nothing more. Pretty misleading headline if you ask me.
