Whitlock- Dolphins prison yard mentality

Not surprising that there is a story involving a black man and a white man and this clown felt the need to chime in on it. He's a running punchline in his home town here in Kansas City for this very reason. If it's not about race, he rarely has an opinion about it.

As for it being a well written article... So friggin what. Orson Scott Card can spin a well written sci-fi yarn but that doesn't make him any less of a bigot.

Since you're there, as I mentioned previously, he's lauded Jesse Jackson who referred to NYC as "Hymietown" so apparently only some bigotry matters to him, but I'm wondering if he chastised Romeo Crennell for lack of oversight which otherwise might have prevented the tragic murder of a young mother by a suicidal player? Or was Romeo off limit too?

Honest question, are you saying that you require someone to criticize everyone that has been a bigot, before they can criticize anyone for being a bigot? Let's say he loves the right honorable Jesse Jackson to a fault, does that make his thinking on all other issues invalid?

My read on the article is he is criticizing the culture of the NFL and a portion Black America (that subset might include Crennel & JJ)

Yeah, actually I do.... you can't overlook one form of bigotry and hold someone up as virtuous so long as it's not directed to your hot button ethnicity without at the least coming off as disingenuous and at the least as an agenda driven hypocrite. Andi by "honorable" you mean corporate extortionist, agitator, moral hypocrite with a long time piece of ass on the side he was supporting through donations and anti-Semite... then if that's the case, I'd agree.

Read my sig and you'll see that I have no use for anyone brimming with moral indignation who can't walk the walk themselves.

I have seen him bash Jessie and Al a lot. I like Whitlock, I think he is very fair when it comes to race.

actually i did read it about 4-5 years ago or so in the context of him being one of the movers in an education campaign emphasizing education as a more realistic way out of the cycle for urban H.S. sports stars. And it did surprise me because before that I thought he was reasonably even handed and agenda free.

Is anyone really agenda free? I think he does as good of a job as I have seen. I don't always agree w/ what he writes but a lot of the time I do and appreciate his writing style.

"Jackson way off base on LeBron" Fox Sports Jason Whitlock:

I could pretend Jesse Jackson speaks for such a tiny minority that his inflammatory, predictable and misguided remarks about LeBron James and Dan Gilbert are unworthy of rebuke.
But then, I’d have to ignore the mountain of e-mails that poured into my laptop from African-American brothers and sisters making the same argument.

Jesse has a constituency, a passionate group of idiots who believe the best way to combat white-wing political bigots such as Limbaugh and Hannity is with black-wing political bigotry.

with all the awards some ppl have on these forums you'd think they make an intelligent post once in awhile but i just dont see it.

well,, having no respect or use for those 2, I stopped going out of my way to read him at that point - maybe it was an anomaly but it sure turned me off.

The right honorable bit was a bit of a jab on my part based on how I have heard the Rev introduced in the past. I do know his history, but thanks for cliff note version!

Edited to add: Does my earlier link change your mind on Whitlock?

well yes, the gist of that sentiment is more in my wheelhouse I admit. Sort of tuned him out after reading that so thanks

These guys in the media are going way overboard with this. Morons.
You are wrong my friend. This is modern America. Racism is a very lucrative business. Lots of money to be made. Cant go overboard, gotta make that coin bud.

It is so shocking that Olbermann would have a columnist on who always has to look at sports in terms of race, rather than just looking at the facts.
