Here's what Jason Whitlock thinks about our first year starter at QB:

"In 1990, three quarterbacks -- Jim Kelly, Warren Moon and Joe Montana -- completed more than 60 percent of their passes. Nineteen years later, 21 quarterbacks -- including future career backups David Garrard, Alex Smith and Chad Henne -- connected on at least 60 percent of their throws."

anti-Wolverine bias?

Smith and Garrard have been around much longer than Henne

put Henne on the Packers and Rodgers on the Dolphins and see who looks like a career backup

I'm not saying Henne is the real deal but it depends alot on who you got around you

even Sanchez has it easy, teams go 8 in the box, he goes play action half the time and receivers are wide open

....who???

Whitlock needs to learn that it's because there are a larger amount of good QB's in the league now than back in the day is the reason why 21 QB's have completed 60%. Garrard led the Jaguars to a playoff win against the Steelers not too long ago, Alex Smith earned his starting QB spot back and has shown promise with the 49ers, and Chad Henne also showed great arm strength while exemplifying some good touch and accuracy.

It seems Whitlock is trying to knock down these QB's for completing 60% of their passes, which is ludicrious in itself. I'm not saying this because of this statement, but Whitlock has made dumb comments like this his entire career as a journalist, and not much should be read into it. He's a guy who sometimes spews out utter BS and makes it seem like he actually knows what he is talking about.

Whitlock's fat *** should've been an offensive lineman instead of a journalist

Really now? Why would anyone even knock down a young starter like henne??? haha

One of the Mariotti/ESPN school. Like him or not, he's savvy and he's angling to get out of print.

Mariotti will have a show before long...And he's a complete asshead.

He forgot to mention Flaco and Ryan. I mean, if you are going to dump a guy in the "career backup" category at the beginning of their career despite a promising start you might as well include everyone.

We don't know if Henne will hit the rookie wall in 2010 in what will essentially be his 2nd year, but you really can't ask much more from a 1st year guy that what he gave us. Good plays and bad plays, but he didn't quit and seems willing to work to get better. Considering the question marks this team had going into the season, compounded by a dizzying rash of injuries, it's even more remarkable.

Oh, and Whitlock my man, the one in the blue dress looks like she was a dude.

hahaha I'm a big Henne fan but I would never want to see Chad Henne on that Packer team with THAT offensive line.

I understand what you are trying to say. But huge difference between the 2. Rodgers is consistantly accurate. He would have done a whole lot better here and GB would have done worse with Henne at QB.

Only time will tell if that scenario would have changed.
