a restricted FA gets that lable when they only have 3 years of experience and their contract is up. the team can make an offer to them before the other teams. and i beleive the team can match an offer that the player agrees to with another team (basically resigning him for the same amount of money he negotiated for with another team). it gives the team leverage over where that player plays next season.
most of the time, these players are drafted players from the 3rd round down. a team offers them a 3 year deal because they might SUCK. and if they do suck, they are gone in 3 years. and if they are good, they have some chance of holding on to them.

If course RFA requires you draft players that have talent, and they then stay with your team. That being the case i don't think we have any..Thanks dave!
