I'am worried about our FA shop at CB, I think CB was one of our big holes last year ( I would like to sign truffant but he resign with seahawks) and I don't wiew much activity on FA in this area.

I have faith in BP judgement and I think he has a plan but who could be our target in FA and in the draft because I can't believe BP would'nt upgrade this position.

Opinion.

I would think our pick at 32 is assuredly a CB at this point. Maybe even #57, too.

How about this:

1. Jake Long
2a. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
2b. Antoine Cason
3. John Carlson

i don't think we're going to find a fixture at CB in FA this year. we might see a mid-level DB or two being brought in, but i think we're going to draft a CB

The reason we didn't pursue any DBs in free agency is because this draft is VERY deep at the cornerback position. We will almost definitely get a quality corner in the draft this year. I wouldn't sweat it. Like I have been saying, if we can get our pass rush up to speed, it will help our secondary immensely. There is no use in over paying a mediocre free agent corner when we can get a young stud corner in the draft.

Has anyone signed Fernando Bryant? I wouldn't mind him being brought in for depth and possibly challenge Lehan for the other starting spot.

Cromartie isn't going to last until #32 - he's shooting up draftboards like there's no tomorrow and one team will slightly overdraft him because he's got so much upside. I wouldn't mind Cason at #32 though; with all the hype around Cromartie, Cason seems a wee bit underrated to me. Very solid cover prospect, could end up being a steal for someone in the 2nd round.

By the way, I don't see us draft two CBs on the first day. Allen is still a very serviceable starter and Lehan and Goodman are okay depth. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, however, to see us draft two offensive tackles and move either Carey or Satele to left guard. Parcells is a building through the trenches guy and this might just be the best tackle class in years. Imagine Long-Carey-Satele-Smiley-Cherilus or something similar. Insane lineup.

Yeah i would imagine that drafting a CB is what we are going to do. But i would not rule out a trade with ATL for D Hall or a dozen other options. This front office seems to have a plan and are following it to a T so i'm not worried.

i'm down with drafting long at LT and then a guard to sure the line up more in the later rounds.
mormino could still challenge for a starting guard spot. he could have started last year but he was injured in training camp

yeah this draft is way too deep in CB, not to snag one with 32 or 57/58?

I'm just thinking with #32 we can grab either one of these 4, all first rounders, but one will slip to us at #32

Mike Jenkins
DRC
Leodis McKlevin
Aqib Talib

While I'm not 100% positive one of those will slip, with the talent and size those 4 represent combined with many of these teams desperately needing a shutdown corner, I suppose there is a possibility all four are chosen before #32. However, I think Mcklevin might fall to the Phins, and they better be all over it...

It would've been nice to get another CB through FA. Maybe there is a value guy in there somewhere. I feel a little leery in leaving rooks to man our corners especially in a division with Moss in it. But.. I definitely believe we'll be drafter a CB somewhere. i would be shocked if we don't.

imo the secondary wasn't our biggest hole..it only seemed as though due to all the injurys. how many times did we have to change safety's around? to the point of worrel being the starter. our biggest hole last year on d was the d_line imo.
that said i think we do well in the draft in the secondary being so deep. along with the rearrangement of the guys we already have and what we've done so far on the front 7 this could be a very nice d as long as we shore up our run stopping/lack of pressure on qb and keep people healthy.

Substitute Chris for Jake and that would be my dream draft. I'm not sure we need 2 corners though since Lehan should be doing what he does best in the nickle and Will is our #1. I would go with a T with 2b.
