Let me preface by saying I don't think we draft a running back especially as high as these 2 will go, but I just watched their highlight videos and wondered in a situation where we were targeting an elite back to pair with Lamar which one of Melvin Gordon or Todd Gurley would work best (gurleys injury is risky but gore and mcgahee proved it can work out)

Also where does Abdullah from Nebraska get drafted (round) he looked pretty nasty too

I told him that I liked his shirt and he had a great season....

anyone top that compliment?

Gurley is the better compliment to Miller. He brings more power than Gordon does.

I don't care who compliments him better . This is what gets you into trouble . If were grabbing a rb then grab the BEST rb. Don't draft one over the other because he's 10 pounds heavier.

I look for a short term vet along the lines of Moreno and Gore, and wait to see how Damien Williams develops. He showed a lot of good stuff in limited time last season.

I don't see a "Freak of nature" Frank Gore, who has not missed a game in the past 4 years with over 1000+ yards each season,
jumping at the opportunity to be a part time player.

Moreno has too many injury issues playing 16 games only 2 times in his 6 year career...maybe at the vet Minimum

No insider info here but, have heard from a couple of Canes former players that Gore would be open to coming back home to finish his career, and that he and Miller get along well in working out together. FWIW.

Melvin Gordon. Don't think Miami is in position to draft Gurley and wait to see if he heals quickly or in time for training camp.

Why not? They seem to be encouraged by the way Damian Williams played last year...he was very good as a receiver out of the backfield and his play time increased as the year went on. Gurley would probably only miss maybe 3 or 4 games. He only tore his ACL and no other structural damage was done to the knee. The payoff from a full recovery would be huge.

RB's are like kickers. Draft them late or better yet, don't draft them. We can find a power back to compliment Miller in FA. I'd like to give Moreno another shot at vet minimum. Go with Damien Williams and another top FA back that's willing to take a 1-2 year deal. Spiller, McFadden, Ridley, R Brown. Try to keep LaMichael James on the practice squad.

Dolphins rookie RB Damien Williams caught two passes for 22 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Jets.
He was quiet in the finale, but Williams showed some promise as a reserve behind Lamar Miller, rushing 36 times for 122 yards with 21 receptions. He primarily played a third-down-back role. Williams is a favorite in the metrics community based on his superior measurables, and they translated to the field as the 2014 season progressed. He should have a legitimate chance to open next season as the Dolphins' clear No. 2 back behind Miller.

If that's the case, Gurley will be off the board by the time miami picks again in RD2. I can't see Miami taking him RD1

Given the opportunity, you'd draft Adrian Peterson at 14. Gurley's on that level. I like Gordon, but I'd rather look at Coleman, Johnson, Ajayi, and Karlos Williams in rounds 2-3. If you miss out on them, there are guys throughout the draft who could work as a compliment, but I'd target RB in the first three rounds.

Gurley is the obviously superior compliment to Miller. We need a guy who can help in the passing game and runs with power. That's Gurley. Only back I'd take at #14 is Gurley, but I don't really believe in taking a RB in round 1. Ultimately I wouldn't be surprised if all they do is add a mid-level FA, max a guy on Gore's level and come out of the draft ignoring the RB position. Just my thought. Gore makes sense here, runs hard, good 3 down player, went to the U and has a great relationship with Miller. If he comes for a salary around what Moreno came for, so under $4.5m I'd definitely entertain the idea.
