besides our #1 pick what player(s) could we give the chargers to get rivers?
would they take a combination of these players?

1.chambers/2nd?
2.taylor and booker?
3. zack and booker?
4.zack and taylor?

I know most of you dont want to get rid of zack or jt and neither do i but lets face it we suck there getting older and the goal as a pro is to win a championship and zack and jt are not getting it here, why not trade them to a team that has a chance to get them a ring? they are a waste here we are a minimum of 3 years away from being contenders for a ring, and in 3 years jt and zack will be way past there prime and mainly role players, bottom line do whats best for the teams future

I wouldn't trade anything you listed. We won't trade a guy like Thomas or Taylor. That's nearly a sure thing. I wouldn't trade CC eather as we would have virtually NO WR's. I would trade our 1st round pick for Rivers. He is a top young QB. The Chargers gave up a first rounder on him, and we should too.

Chargers are going to give Rivers up for anything less than 2 first round picks.

If the Chargers trade Rivers, they take a 9 million cap hit. They will want a first round this year. and at least a 2nd or 1st next year. If nobody bites, they keep Rivers again for another year. They still have the cap space even if they tag brees again.

just the 1st... that's it. There will be a bidding war for Rivers this offseason, and I hope we don't get duped into trading a first plus some of our great players. I'd rather give try to trade our first and third to move up in the draft to get a QB

I dont think we even have to move up to get our QB... if Vince Young or Jacobs comes out... nice.. if not... we can grab Cutler in ealry 2nd.... or trade down in the first round and still get him...

I disagree. If they can fit trading Rivers under the cap, they need to do it. Keeping Brees and Rivers will eventually tear their team apart. I'm not in favor of Miami trading for Rivers and giving up a pick in the top 10, but I think a top 10 pick is as good as San Diego can possibly do here. They have to move one guy or the other.

if you assume those QBs are worth having. Most QBs that you draft are 50/50 in this league so you want the surest thing possible. In my opinion, the world narrows to Leinart or Quinn, and nothing else.

This is unfortanantly true. I think he only count for about 650,000 against their cap next year. It will hurt their cap FAR more to trade him next year than it would just to keep him. I guess it is possible though since they are suposed to have a tone of cap room next year.

Some stale bread & some moldy cheese. That's all he's worth to me. Notice in today's blowout Rivers only got on the field for the final kneel down. In three blowouts this year he's gotten one snap. I think they know he's not worth the picks they want & they're hiding him to keep his value from going down. Smart on their part, I hope we don't go for him.

I think it's less what you suggest and more that they're already dealing with a volatile situation that could blow up at any time and hurt the team -- they don't need Rivers to look sharp and make the players question who to support in a civil war.

imo, i'd trade jt for rivers..
str8 up though.

no picks involved...xcept, maybe they 3rd.
