who do u guys think will be a surprising cut

shaw is fairly young he will make our prac squad, he has had alot of off field issues, he lacks a closing burst in pursuit which jeff excels in, his upside is limited by his lack of speed and athletic ability, is improving his technique and leverage
 
IMO we are looking at Bua, (I pray)Lee, Zgonina, Berlin, Radar(If not Lee), and Whitley.
I dont include Thompson/Gilmore because I think one may be included in any trade with Lamar Gordon.
 
my suprise cuts are going to be Sage and Bua.

Why?

well, I love Bua. He's certainly one of the most exciting players on the team with his hitting skills but I just don't know how many "just special teamers" Saban will keep. He keeps talking about "multiples" over and over. It just seems like Bua doesn't have those "multiples". I truly hope I'm wrong though..

..as for Sage...I'm one of the guys who was hoping last even 2 seasons ago would get a true opportunity to start..just hasn't happened..I've also stated several times recently that Sage has now been thru 4 different coaches, 2 here and 2 in Washington, and he's NEVER been above 3rd string without injuries moving him up. I'm positive it has nothing to do with his arm strength (he likely has the strongest arm on the team the last 3 years) or his athletisism, so that leads me to think he's very similar to our old friend Jim Drunkenmiller! Just that he doesn't have to total mental makeup to play consistantly (although he's in no way dumber than Drunkenmiller because he's at still in the league). This said..Saban has stated before that he likes for the #3 QB to be young and a developemental guy. Yes, Sage is still young but it's looking like he'll never be more than a #2 when all is said and done with his career. Thus, I see either Berlin or another young guy brought in after some cuts are made taking the #3 spot on the active roster...As for Berlin..currently I only think he should be signed to the practice squad but if Saban doesn't bring in another guy then it's possible that Brock makes the 53 man roster as the #3 QB (possibly as a gameday scratch at times even)...Sage is simply wasted for another year of sitting on the bench and not sniffing any possiblity of game time...that spot should go to a younger guy with possibly more potential.

..just my thoughts....although I'd like for both to be here I think that they could be suprise cuts.
 
I think Larry Chester will be cut, as Saban goes with more youth at defensive tackle. Donald Lee is another likely surprise cut - talented, but inconsistent. I agree that Brock Berlin will make the practice squad. Harris might, but another team (Philly, Jacksonville) could pick him up.

I also think he's a possiblity....the one thing that's certainly in his favor though is that he still VERY young but he's yet again another one of those guys who doesn't have Saban's "size" requirements that he's established for LBs in his scheme....I think he'll be a tough one but I think he'll make it for at least one more year with the team.
 
moore hasn't lived up to expectations Period i wouldnt be suprised if he was cut
 
one who I was thinking about when posting another thread who'd be a "suprise" is Zgonina. While he's earned the right to be on the active roster with his skill being above all the young guys, I think Saban will go fairly young at the DT spot. I think though that it's more likely he's traded for something like a 6th or 7th than just totally cut though....just keep that in the back of your minds and well see here in a couple weeks.

1. Ricky- love him or hate him he's back- remember he will be sitting out the first four games.

2. Ronnie- he's got outstanding talent and should be starting week 2

3. Morris- he will make the team as a Rb or Fb st ace

4. Minor- good st player will be on roster until ricky comes back

5. Harris- a mystery i think he will be a giid part time player for someone until then he makes the practice squad.

FB

Evans- local hero, good blocker, solid FB

Martin- i love this guy he's a great blocker he's my wildcard

Rader- makes the practice squad

Wr

Chambers- this will be his breakout season

Booker- mild dissapointment last year, he will rebound this year

Boston- will look to rejuvinate his carreer this season

Thompson- my fav player, he's from my high school, great 4th receiver

Gilmore- one word speedster

welker- will force saban to keep 6 receivers, fan fav and outstanding sp team player.

Newson, Davis, Mann, there not bad players just no room for them

TE

Mcmichael- a young probowl player next season that will hopefully learn how to control his temper

Diamond- has impressed in 2 leagues and will make our roster

Lee- is a knuclehead that never blossomed, needs to impress to revenge that awful chicago game.

Perry- a long snapper, one word consistant, Lee is a knuclehead that never blossomed

OL

Center- Hadnot, Mckinney

Guards- james, St.Clair, Middleton,

Tackles- Carey, Mcdougle, D-Mac, Alabi,

Whitley never panned out and cook will battle it out with Big Frank

DE- Holliday, Roth, Bowens, Taylor,

DT- Carter, Zgonina, Traylor, Wright, Big Vick, chester makes the PUP list

LB- Spraegon, Thomas, Seau, Pope, Crowder, Glenn, Moore is a bust that was injured last time i checked. we will put him on the PUP list

CB- Madison, Daniels, Howard, Richard, Edwards is currently battling it out with richard although richard is younger and in my opinion more talented.

FS- Shulters, Bell, Tillman

SS- Jones, Bua

Kicker- Mare, Punter- Turk, Gordon was my final cut,
