Obviously this regular season is just one long preseason to see who will be a dolphin going forward. So let us hear who do you think the dolphins should definitely keep next year on both offense and defense.

As of right now these are my definite keepers;

Offense:
  1. Tannehill
  2. Pouncey
  3. Tunsil
  4. Landry
  5. Drake
  6. Parker
  7. Caroo
  8. Grant
  9. Albert

Defense:
  1. Suh
  2. Kiko
  3. Howard
  4. Jones

Everyone else can go.

I would trade Pouncey in a heartbeat if I had more confidence in the front office. Chances are they would use the picks and get a much worse player.

I already had an argument on this site about Tannehill and cutting him and I'm not going there again. Good luck though...get ready.

Steen is a keeper. Steen is 100% a keeper. A guy you pluck up off the street and he comes in and busts his ass, plays well, and does everything you ask of him, and puts guys you've drafted highly and invested in for years to shame? You keep him.

Put up your list thou, who are your keepers?

How many games till the end of the season? 2-3?

I mean, no one would discuss this now, it is like discussing draft picks before the NFL and College seasons are over.

Too early to make a complete list but I would say that the following players would need to be DREADFUL over the last 11 games to lose my support:

- Landry
- Grant
- Tunsil
- Steen
- R. Jones
- Howard

Suh is going nowhere due to salary and even some players that I love, like Cam Wake, well, it might be time to move on.

I'd keep Sims and maybe Ulbrick or Steen on offense, but projecting them as backups. Not sure on Stills. I wouldn't spend much to retain him though. Phillips is still on his rookie contract, so I wouldn't let him go yet. DT is a position that often takes a couple years for players to grow into. I'd retain Lippett one more year. He has flashed some potential. But it's sad how many JAGS we really have.

Edit: this is all in addition to OP's list.

Steen done okay for the situation he is in. But Im not giving no one a moral pass. He is a weak run blocker and for a center your top two roles are calling out assignments and run blocking.

You lost me at Tannehill. You really would pay that underachiever 18m next year? I thought the point of your thread was to get rid of these types of players.

I would keep anyone on their rookie contract + Jones, Suh, Kiko. Time to clean house.

He is a dirt cheap reserve player who stepped in and played well off the jump. Look at our OL. Look at how outrageously bad it has been despite all of the high picks and players we've spent years trying to develop it. You find a guy who steps in and is solid off the jump and is making peanuts, you keep him. That's the core of my argument. Not that he is great, but rather that he is exactly the kind of player we need to retain.

I love Cam as well, but I knew his age and coming from that injury it was time to move on.

At the least we need some of these guys on the bunch, so I agree with you 100%. One of the issues we have had the last several years on the o-line particularly is that our bench has been full of the physical talent, but cant play types that we were hoping would develop instead of your traditional overacheivers that are backups.

Which people do all season long. You can't make concrete lists until after the season, but there is nothing wrong with discussing this stuff now on an informal message board.

I'd much prefer a list of who, at game 5, should not be on the '17 roster. To stop all the "cut them all" nonsense, limit it to 10 players. I'd like to have some idea who those here think are the absolute worst.

I have a few possible keepers, but here is my definite list....

Landry
Parker

I wouldn't keep Tanny. His value is much lower than his salary.

Pouncey is a maybe. He's been inconsistent and oft-injured for several years.

Drake? What has he shown?

Caroo...I guess we HAVE to keep him and give him a couple years. We gave up too much to get him.

Albert....let him go. He's injured too much, and we already have a starting-caliber LT on our roster (Tunsil).

Kiko....the only way I keep him is if he moves to OLB and we get a real MLB.
