who exactly is the Mcdaniels guy on our team?

All I know is that whenever he was on the field during the pre-season he was literally in on EVERY play! The guy seems to be a beast. Who exactly is he and where is he from? Is he going to be a guy who gets a lot of game time? He certainly looks like he deserves it!

We picked him up from the Jags for a 7th round pick. Seems to be a steal at this point.

Poor Phillip Merling. LoL, all 3 of those guys do look better than MErling though even though Merling was basically a 1st round pick.

He is 6'7", 305, and coming into his 4th year from Tenn.

He was used as a DT and did little, few tackles, 1.5 sacks, for his career.

Ireland loves the guy.

Mcdaniels was a big reason the jags let Henderson go. He played DT.
Came out of Tennessee as a junior, went undrafted, played 11 games as a rookie in 2006, hip injury kept him out for final 5.

In 07, he only played 4 games and broke his wrist, went on IR.

08 toe injury Dec went on IR again after starting 3 games.

We signed him to a 3 year 4 mil contract, which is a great deal if he can keep him healthy.

He looks a little like the guy NE just traded to Oakland, but you're right other than that pic for 6 last year, he has a habit of blending in to the background.

Yeah Sanders is from around here, North Ft Myers, and my best friend started 4 years DE on his HS team. Sanders loves to fish and some of the best fishing for bass is on airport property (no fishing allowed). When he came back here he would always get caught there by airport police and they finally arrested him after numerous warnings.

I loved the Merling pick last year, but so far he hasn't lived up to his potential. That's why I like McDaniels. He busted his butt in the offseason and during pre-season.

So far, I agree. Although he has not looked bad, he has A LOT more to offer. I trust our coaches will bring that out.

I agree on McDaniels. I believe he was too tall, and not strong enough, for DT in the NFL. As a 3-4 DE, he is close to perfect.
