What player were you really pumped about the Dolphins drafting?

Man I gotta be honest, being I'm a pesimist, it's been hard for me to get to excited about any draft. But here are a few notes:

Been a fan since the early 70's but draft coverage was nowhere near what it is today.

I would have been if Brady Quinn was because he was highly thought of and it appeared he "slipped" and was a gift to the Dolphins at #9

Weeks prior to taking Ronnie I really liked the thought of picking Ronnie, but as it became more apparent Ricky would be back I started to believe drafting A RB wasn't the best thing.

I don't think the Dolphins have ever drafted that "5 tool" RB, a guy like LT, Faulk, Dickerson, etc... It seems every RB we have drafted (aside from Ronnie) has at least a few serious downfalls (size and strength usually) and you know they are limited.

I had no faith in anything Pornstache did so I 100% assumed his drafts would blow up in his face.

Being I'm an Aggie I liked the Richmond Web pick.

I'm sure like alot of others who were around back then I have to go with Marino, 1st round QB and a hall of fame Head Coach really had possibilities.

OJ I can see...Marino at QB and a top WR. Zach, really? You got that excited about a 5th round undersized LB. Not saying the end result wasn't great. And I liked the pick being familiar with Zach from Tech, but I wouldn't say I was excited.

Since i wasnt alive when Dan Marino was draft i would go with Ronnie and Sam Madison and Pat Surtain

Nat Moore because I was a fan of his at Florida.

Honestly I was real excited when the Fins drafted Marco Coleman.

He is from my hometown and went on to be a star with my favorite college team Georgia Tech. I met Marco during his rookie season with the Dolphins and spoke with him on several occasions during his tenure with us. He was a real solid football player but not quite the star I had pegged him to be. Super nice guy though.

I remember one particular draft day when I was telling everyone at the party we need to take this kid from Akron named Jason Taylor. They all called him a tweener, at least those who had heard the name.

Not to toot my own horn honestly but we all know how that turned out.

Rob Konrad. I remember watching him at Syracuse and I was mad because we had just taken J.J. Johnson 4 picks earlier, so I didn't think we'd go RB back to back, so I figured for sure we wouldn't look at Konrad, but we did... I was pumped.

I remember exactly where I was when Zach Thomas was drafted too. I was staying with my cousins at my thier house and we were watching ESPN. I just caught the pick and I think they had showed a very short highlight of him. I remember thinking who the crap is that?! but that he looked like a little tank! lol.

Dan Marino. I was a huge fan of his at Pitt and I was absolutely shocked as he continued to slide down the draft to us. I was ecstatic when we got him and to this day I just dont' see how so many GM's got scared off by his senior season of forcing the ball into double-coverage. The kid was so obviously playing on a different level than anyone else he almost didn't care whether a WR was blanket covered, double covered, or wide open, he was good enough to thread that needle. I've never seen such a combo of reading defenses, accuracy, rifle arm and a quick release.

i liked will poole thought he was gonna be the next great cb for miami then he got hurt.. dang.

Marino and Troy Vincent. Sammie Smith, too.

Definately Dan Marino.......but Burgh has a point. I was screaming for them to pick Brees during that year's draft just as I was screaming for them to pick Randy Moss when they passed on him. Sometimes when these G.M.'s have a chance to draft a proven big-time football player they think too much about "what if this" and "what if that?" Man, just pull the trigger! The bottom line is to get good football players.

I was devastated and dumbfounded when we picked Ginn Jr. But a couple of days later he would rank as the player I have gotten most excited about.

brady quinn..oh wait. we could go on forever about those. we've drafted horrible...

probably the only players as soon as i heard their names i was excited was Ronnie Brown, Channing Crowder, J.R. Tolver, Chris Chambers, Randy McMichael, and Rodrique Wright
