Who gets cut first?

Mike Rivera was cut yesterday. Is that cut included in the 81 players on the roster mentioned earlier in this thread?

alot of people arent happy with the OL and will probably jump to wanting to cut Carey, Jerry, Murtha, Colombo. Thing is, we have no one under them who can play other than Garner. with the depth we have now, i would be surprised to see any of them cut soon.

Ness, Pruitt, Mastrud, O'Connell, Spitler, and Ristelli

I think O'Connell survives first cuts. The backups will be unleashed against Dallas, and in my opinion the 3rd QB position is Kevin O'Connell's job to lose.

op why do you think clay gets cut? there is no way he gets cut imo

No Olineman will be cut until the final slim down to 53. Other wise we would not have enough for a second and third unit at practice.

The first roster cut is to 80 players not 75. Originally it was 75 but because of the lockout it was changed by the league to 80, so we only have to cut 1 player by Tuesday. ......September 3rd is the final cut to 53 players and the following day we can start establishing an 8 man practice squad.

O'Connell does nothing for this team. What good would a 3rd string QB that all the other teams disarded do for us? The young rookie at least gives us some hope for the future (especially after we did not draft anyone this year). They say oh, we need a 3rd stringer to give us a better chance of winning right now-- If we have to go down to our 3rd string QB this year, we are already losing and not winning this year and the season is lost.

Also cut Colombo, Ness, Mustrud, Hilliard or Johnson, and Vaaark.

Nate Ness, Julius Pruitt, Patrick Carter, Vincent Agnew, Nicolas Grigsby, Mark Restelli, John Matthews, Ryan Baker... There is a lot of OL and DL fodder that will get dropped. Some will go to the practice squad. I guess Nate Ness is my biggest surprise cut. He just isn't playing well at all so far. But Will Allen might be ready to go instead. He isn't coming along since that injury.

Don't be too quick to cut Nic Grigsby. He may be better than Daniel Thomas.
