Who Had Better Draft Classes from 2008-2011 Mia, GB, or Pit???

Ryan is without a doubt better than Henne, Flaco though I don't think so.

They are almost even. At his best Henne has looked better than Flaco at his best. Flaco is on a better team too.

The Steelers and Green Bay have drafted well for over a decade. Their teams have depth and their GMs have been left along to plan for the future. The Dolphins have been unstable since Wannsteadt left and he was a horrible judge of talent.

The one thing that bothers me about Ireland and Parcell's method of drafting is the emphasis on value instead of just drafting the very best available player. Maybe because the team had so many holes to fill this was their approach. This draft will be interesting. Ireland is a good evaluater of talent, if he leaves we may not be so lucky next year.

I can agree with you. But I do feel "value" and the "best available player" are one in the same. Fact is, we may reach for a QB other than that I think we can find some more gems. and if we continue to draft well, like Ireland has eventually we will have a great self sustaining team, this won't be achieved with the constant turnover these whiners are pining for

I mean hell, look at the only draft Ireland has made thus far on his own.

1. Pouncy (starter, maybe eventual pro bowler, but undoubtably a top talent at the position)
2. D Thomas (Started his career with consecutive 100 yd games, has a perfectly compatable running style to Bush, being a bruiser while Bush is more shifty, giving us a good 1 2 punch in the backfield for a few years)
3. Gates (Undoubtably fast, a coulple nice returns, he needs to work on his routes, but the guy could become a playmaker, Mike Wallace remember was raw and fast when he came out and his rookie season as well, look at him now)
4. Clay (Made some huge plays, and proved to be a nice downfield threat at TE, something we have been begging for, with more PT this year he could really break out)
5. Kearse, didn't make the team
6. Jimmy Wilson (Made some nice plays as a rookie, filled in for injured starters admirably, something you like to see from a 7th rounder)

That's 5 out of 6 picks looking like good choices

and you're saying you don't want this guy drafting?? Are you really trying to say this guy can't draft?

If anyone is delusional it is the lot of you Fireland idiots

Green Bay and Pittburgh are widely regarded as great FO's mainly for their ability to draft and rebuild from within. Another reason they have been able to do this has been there's owner's patience with regimes.

Let's take a look at the last 4 draft classes from Pitt, GB, and Miami; since those are the only drafts Ireland has been in on (therefore the only one he deserves to be accountable for)

Here's my criteria so you can't argue my judgement with anything but factual rebuttels of your own, if I've made an oversight FACTUALLY I will be willing to concede to you.

I've based a successful pick being a solid NFL starter or better, some of the more recent picks from every team can eventually prove themselves to be that i.e. Daniel Thomas or Clyde Gates; but for discussion purposes lets exclude them from being considered a successful pick.

1 team drafted 6 out of 34 (17%)

1 drafted 5 out of 33 (15%)

1 drafted 8 out of 32 (25%)

Can you guess who had the highest success rate? That big idiot :rolleyes2: Jeff Ireland, gosh, why would we trust HIM to build through the draft (this is blatant sarcasm for the knuckledraggers).

Point being, we are drafting well under Ireland, if we continue to draft this well we will be back to respectability sooner than later. But we must quit with the regime flipping, and big splash pleading or this organization is forever doomed.

I love the "building through the draft" argument.
But you're missing that each pool of talent was different for each team.

While Dolphins needed many bodies just to fill the starting lineup, while Pittsburgh was looking for a pir of pieces and several backups.
Green Bay has been "building through the draft" since 2005, and some of their stars needed 4 years to be full time starters, so it's a long route and you are focusing on the last seasons.

If you could pick a set players of that list, which set is more likely to start elsewhere?

I chose the past 4 years just because that's been Ireland's time, you are absolutely correct, it takes more than 4 years, we needed to make a lot of unsexy picks to fill pressing needs, and if we continue to draft well we will be good, this is my point

You forgot to mention Kearse was plucked from our Practice squad in added to Carolina's active roster and ended up starting four out six possible games he appeared in.

But hey it's cool to bash the GM for everything that happened in the previous 30 years.

I mentioned him, and it proves he was a good pick, our d-line was just too deep to put him on the active roster unfortunately
