I always want to see what would have happened if Bates was given a chance...

Best coach? Saban hands down. The reason he wasnt successful here had nothing to do with coaching. Hell, he went 9-7 with Gus ****ing Frerotte. What did him in was trying to be GM too, which he failed at.

As I review this list in my head I recognize why we've sucked for a decade. Painful as it is to say I'd have to say Nick Satan.

Good grief look at that list.

Ya a sad list. Why is the highlight on that list remembering Bates, chest slamming with the players after plays. At least HE had heart. I don't think he was a HC but I did enjoy his spirit. I don't know if Gruden is the best, but I would love to see him. He could last a few years and he has heart to. And he is not a bad HC. I think he is better than what we have.

It's easy to coach in college. All you have to do is yell at kids for 20 hours a week and you'll keep your job.. just ask Dave Wannstedt.

Wanny doesn't make a pimple on Nick Saban's a** as a coach on any level...

This thread reminds me of the "good" years with Jimmy and Dave and everyone being tired of just making the playoffs. I remember many people saying they would rather us be terrible instead of just "good". I guess they got their wish. They thought a terrible record would turn into better coaching and better drafting-Ha!

Bates took the mess that Wanny created and at least made them look prepared and hungry for a win. Saban and Wanny were not as horrible as Sparano on game day but their egos destroyed them in personnel decisions as neither of them had any business with GM duties. Cameron was absolutely lost and had no chance of righting the ship that Saban sunk. Sparano is a nice guy but is just not that smart...Parcells wanted a puppet to boss around and boy, he found one! I am just so friggin' happy that Parcells passed on Rex Ryan and Leslie Frazier. Yes, I know that Minnesota has the same record as us but he inherited a mess from the previous coach and I believe will turn it around far faster than we will.

Dave Wannstedt
Jim Bates
Nick Saban
Cam Cameron
Tony Sparano

Sadly of those 5, the 2 who have done least damage to the Dolphins are Wannstedt and Sparano. Wanny is the more successful, while Sparano is still hanging by a thread, but at least his team like him don't give up.

With all the damage he did to the Dolphins (Probably more then the other 4), the one HC I would never want to see back in the NFL is Saban...guy deserves to be in college, because he sure can't handle or figure out the NFL.

Why do you keep spewing this nonsense? Sparano's team quit on him last year right in front of everybody. He's a dunce. How many more players, owners, front office executives need to keep pointing that out to you?

Wannstedt can't even hold down a job in college.. He's nowhere near Nick Saban.

Smart man. That's why he gets the nod.

and the ONLY one on that list i might add. not like we couldnt figure this out on our own (although by the fact wandstedt is leading i guess we cant). but Jason Taylors comments about his coaches should tell u enough.

guys in the locker room KNOW who can coach and who cant. Taylor played for Wandstedt a long time and failed to mention him as one of the best coaches hes played for.

YET, he DID mention Nick Saban. hmmmmmm. ill stick with JT on this one

A true "Decade of Dominance". A regular "who's-who" at the ****ty corch convention (other than Saban).
