...Ryan or Josh in getting the starting job?
I say, so far, it should be Rosen. You?

Wow, very creative thread. It's nice to have something new to discuss, and have a chance to see where individual members stand....Ryan or Josh in getting the starting job?

It doesn't matter what we think, the only opinion that matters is Brian Flores.

Just joking..... Carry on.
I haven't seen much of preseason football, but based on what I have seen I'd say Rosen has the edge. I still think the issue isn't just winning the job outright, though. I think Flores wants to see the offensive line jell a little more before throwing a young quarterback out there. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Fitzpatrick get the first two games against Baltimore and New England.
For the most part I do agree. I think it will be hard for either Rosen or Fitzpatrick to make it through the season uninjured behind this line. That is a major concern right now and one I think Flores will factor in. But, yes the more time he plays would seem like a positive for his development and to determine if he's the guy moving forward.I get that and yes Rosen is still very young, but he played all last season. Hes not a rookie, hes been in the for a bunch of games already with live bullets flying around. He will gain more by starting more games than sitting more on the bench.
:funny::funny::funny::funny: Loved it.I think the very plays that Rosen made, and the fans loved, are the same plays that gives Flores concern.
For example, Rosen made a run for a first down. He knew where he had to get to and it was going to involve contact. He showed moxie and us fans loved it. Flores might have preferred the slide, and a punt, rather than his QB risking injury. He also got pile drived on a nice pass play. Should have been a penalty IMHO. Again Flores may feel like any one pass completion isn't worth risking injury; something which could derail an entire season.
Then we had a nice pass completion to Ford. A thing of beauty. But he had a wide open receiver a few yards shorter that was a sure thing whereas Ford was double covered and Rosen was throwing off his back foot. Could be seen by Flores as bad judgement. But I'm sure many of you loved it just as I did. That 99 yard drive made me think we just might have our guy here. That could really mean something given our draft picks and cap space next year!
Rosen seems to have the mindset that no play is going to be a wasted play if he has anything to do/say about it. I love it. I can also so how it might make his head coach feel a little ....well.....queasy:)
