Who has the strongest arm in the NFL?

Yeah, and some people thought it was real. :chuckle:

I knew it wasn't real...especially in the beginning when the reciever catches the ball and flies back about 10 feet lol. I just thought it was a cool commercial.

I've noticed though that a lot of these cannon armed guys take a long time to master the most important part of bing a QB...accuracy. Guys like Vick, Leftwich and Mcnabb are good examples. They can toss the football 65 yards but have trouble with the shorter routes or try to force balls into places they shouldn't go. Daunte Culpepper was like that for awhile..but he seems to have improved that aspect of his game. Granted I know some of these guys are young and still learning but it just shows that having a cannon means nothing if you're not accurate with it.

The ultimate example is Jeff George. He had one of the strongest arms the NFL had ever seen...yet he couldn't grasp the basic fundamentals of being a good QB. Well being a major a-hole didn't help his case either. :D

1. Mike Vick
2. David Carr
3. Brett Favre

Brett Farve. I remember his own recievers having a hard time catching his bullets.

believe it or not Kyle Boller has one of the strongest arms in the league.

At one of his workouts before he was drafted, he threw a ball from the 50 yardline on his knees and it went through the goal post!
try the 30 and it went through the goal post.

Ben Rothlesberger from the rookie from the steelers without question has the strongest arm in the nfl, I watched a couple practices and he threw the ball 70 yards with ease and hines ward said he nearly knocked him over on a short pass while rolling out!

did anyone watch the college qb challenege a couple years ago--grossman through the ball 68 yards and hit within a specific area which was 5 yards

Didn't BROCK HUARD ONE TRHOW A 92 YARD PASS prior to the 1999 draft.

Vick has the strongest arm when your speaking of airing out the ball. He can hit the back of the endzone from 80 yards out.

In terms of a hard throw, Favre and Collins get that nod.

Daunte Culpepper however, uses his arm strengh to his advantage more than anyone else.

You'll see Palmer on the list really soon. As for Peyton, his arm strengh isn't one of his fortay's. HE is just excellent at everyhting else. Eli actually has the better arm.

i saw mike vick knock a wvu db down with a pass in '99, he also broke fingers of 3 wrs in practice (caused ricky hall to miss the nc game). gotta be him

i think one of many fortay´s is peyton mannings arm

I think that we are again having trouble describing arm strength. As an example, I'll use Peyton Manning:

Peyton does not have the sort of "arm strength" that results in a Marino-like spiral. He actually throws some ugly looking passes at times if you look at the rotation on them.

Peyton does have the sort of "arm strength" that allows him to complete the deep outs and other passes of that nature.
