Who is Darrelle Revis?

I don't know if he should draft Darrelle Revis. I have a friend who goes to Rutgers, and he said their receivers destroyed Revis in that game, and that he didn't look very special. My problem with the cornerbacks in this draft is none of them look all that worthy of our 1st round pick. I can see us getting a guy in the later rounds (maybe 3rd), but not 1st. If there was a shut down corner, I'd say go for it, but there really isn't. And because there isn't, #9 overall is way to high for them.

the safeties in this draft (landry, and nelson) are far better prospects then any of the corners. If we really must go secondary with our pick, i'd rather pick a safety and just work from that. Theres no point in picking a lessr player just to fill a need. If we took a safety, it would give us an impressive safety set, which would take pressure off the corners. These things usually work themselves out one way or another.

I say he slips into the 2nd round....like Richard Marshall did last year

He is too sloooowwwwwwwwwwww. If he were tall or big and strong maybe, but a guy his size isn't going to be very effective. A healthy Travis Daniels is probably a better choice. Travis can make the interception. We do need a pro bowl type CB everybody does but they are extremely expensive and almost all of them are faster than 4.45. Olindo Mare can almost run that fast.

A native of Aliquippa, Pa., which has produced several NFL players, including cornerback Ty Law, Revis plays a physical style in coverage and is not shy about coming up to support the run. For his career, Revis has 129 tackles, eight interceptions and 32 passes defensed. He has also returned punts on occasion. - Len Pasquarelli ESPN

Dave Wannstedt is the coach at Pitt now, as most Dolphin fans know. Here is what he said of Revis:

"From the beginning, we wanted to make sure Darrelle had all of the information he needed to make the right decision regarding his future. Given the feedback he has received, we support Darrelle in his decision to apply for the NFL draft. He is an exceptional football player and an even better young man. Having coached in the NFL, I know what teams are looking for and Darrelle has both the necessary tangibles and intangibles. Somebody is going to get one heck of a cornerback in this spring's draft."

If Miami doesn't get Samuaels or Clements in FA, this guy might get the call at #9 in the 1st round.

 Exactly. But he is the Pitt head coach and it was therefore worth mentioning.

Maybe Landry would be the better pick at 9. I agree that this draft doesn't look good for DBs. But without Samuels or Clements, Miami has to get a top tier DB from somehwere.

Oh yeah... no way this thread is only worth one star. :rolleyes2

im love with this guy his an absolute stud in coverage and makes alot of plays. i'd be happy to take him @ 9 if he impresses at the combine

I agree pick Landry or Reggie Nelson with the 1st pick

I'd definitely take him over Leon Hall, however I'd rather have Reggie Nelson or Laron Landry over either of them.
