not crazy about the back-up RB situation... Riggs could be intriguing...

please don't get hurt, Ronnie...

You can tell it's a new week when...

another thread is started about our backup running back situation.

Can I wish for Clinton Portis

I wouldnt feel very comfortable with anyone on our current roster starting a game if ronnie went down

i went with Riggs on a lark, mainly because i'm not crazy about the other three at all and i don't know who we could realistically pick up right now... i know he can't run outside, supposebut if Riggs shows a knack, and shows for camp in shape and focused, i'd give him a shot... he's certainly has the great pedigree...

I thought Sundays were for new Harrington threads and Mondays were for new backup RB threads.... If someone changed the schedule, I would have appreciated it if they had sent me a memo or something.

somehow i knew someone would chime in with that...

honestly, i haven't been checking the main thread hourly lately...i usually wait for camp for that level of obsession... :goof:

It just get tiresome to hear people keep asking the same questions over and over. What if Ronnie Brown gets hurt or other such nonsense. Ricky Williams was a luxury last year and there is no one of his calibur available.
Training camp will settle the backup running back position whether we are comfortable with whomever it is or not.

:goof: Now I'm off to find the "What if Joey Harrington Has to Start" thread. :goof:

If one of the choices were Morris AND Minor.. I'd pick that one.
I want to see both the undrafted guys get a shot but we don't need them suited up at this point.

i'm aware of what training camp will settle...

but then... no one forces you to open up a thread titled in such a way... i believe... i mean, i could be wrong...

Ricky Williams was a luxury last year and there is no one available as good. People need to get over it and give players like Sammie Morris a chance. Morris did a good job in a starting role the last month of 2004 when he got the chance under Bates so I think he can do a good job as Ronnie's backup.

are you suggesting i'm someone who's not over Ricky Williams? are you speaking for me? or people in general?

Morris? Sammy Morris is a decent and versatile football player, but not a strong first down NFL tailback.... if you think he is, i couldn't disagree more... plus, he's a fumbler... i would not give the football to sammy morris for any extended period of time...

There is usually a good reason why a backup is a backup. With the exception of players like Ricky Williams, they usually cannot carry the load for an extended period of time.

Maybe Dave W. has had a profound effect on you and other Dolphins Fans because this "What If Someone Gets Hurt" mentality is ,IMO, beneath what I thought Dolphins fans are.

agreed with the first, but could that last paragraph be more condescending?

it's a mentality? wow... how about just a topic about quality depth?

whatever you do, please don't be making a wannstedt parallel to me... i mean, you're the one suggesting we go with a wannstedt guy in the event it's necessary...
