Who is out there to be our D-coordinater?

I'm hoping for Coyle to be fired so who is out thre for us to get. I'm for Rex but I don't see him going back down to coordinater. Thoughts?

Coyle isn't going anywhere I'm not so sure even Rizi is. Get a better kicker, and our ST is much improved say one that can kick a touch back!

I've stated this is another thread but I would have to wonder what kind of candidate would want to come here with Philbin in the last year of his contract.

I doubt we get rid of Coyle. It would be unwise for a really good D-Coordinator to choose to come to Miami on the last year of a HC's contract. Coyle has put out good defenses statistically, but defenses that have been pretty bad situationally. There are times where they held this team together and won games for us, then there is every other time where they must do something and just flat out fail to come through. Situational football is the key to being great.

If Harbaugh goes to Michigan, I don't expect Vic Fangio to follow him. If he isn't retained by the 49'ers, like if they hire a new HC with a defensive background, I'd make an offer to Fangio.

Last year when The Dolphin offense tanked out, Sherman was fired and rightfully so. This time around, last quarter of the season, this defense has completely tanked out. Coyle should receive the same result as Sherman did.

If Coyle stays the only logical argument I can see him having is that the personnel was awful. That doesn't excuse him stunting his entire line out of the play. Although after watching this team have one on ones (Odrick, Vernon, Mitchell, Jordan) and unable to win them consistently, I see why a small percentage of the time he should stunt. Not all the time though.

His personnel is awful. His DTs don't eat up double teams. His ends outside of Wake can't win a one vs one. Vernon is the most overrated player on the roster. His mike has some of the worst read and shoot skills I have seen. Terrible at diagnosing at late to every play. Jenkins takes on blocks but has no one there to clean up. Wheeler shoots gaps aimlessly and has terrible IQ.

His corners are small and not skilled enough to play aggressive bump and run. His slot, Jimmy Wilson, has some of the worst hips I have seen and has 2-3 dumb penalties per game.

Still think he should get fired. His blitzes are terrible, bland, and easy to counter.
