How much was the defense in the New England debacle due to conditioning or how much of it was the players being out of place and not knowing there assignments? I think it was a lot of both, yes the players were cramping up but at times it seemed like they didn't know who their man was that they were suppose to be covering. It's been known that Channing Crowder always knew the plays the opposing offense were calling but just didn't have the ability to make the play. We're all aware of Crowder's short-comings on the field. The man just isn't a play-maker at all. After six years as a starting linebacker for the Dolphins, Crowder had accumulated just 2.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. Consider this fact, Karlos Dansby, in one season as a Dolphin, has accumulated more sacks and over a third of the tackles for loss that Crowder has accumulated in his entire career. However, his ability to "quarterback" the defense and dissect plays on the field was also a big part of Channing's game. This next game will tell just how valuable he was to this defense!
