When we went into the Draft, some experts and fans liked our pick, and some did not.

One of the best indicators is not what a player looked like in college, though pretty high. Nor is it talent, and how high a ceiling the players seems to have, though again, another good bit of info that could give you the answer.

The best indicator is how big a heart a player has, as well as how hard is he willing to go to reach his expected potential and beyond. Problem is, as has been said many times, you can't measure a heart, or accurately guess who has the biggest...This is why late picks like Zach Thomas and Tom Brady become superstars, and considered one of the best at their position, and players like JaMarcus Russell, and Steve Emtman are picked as top players, only to become huge busts.

An article i just found says that not only is Grant showing hard work, and attempting to prove himself, but he is working so hard, a few vets in camp had to tell him to slow down and pace himself.

Now don't get me wrong, not saying this guarantees he will become great, or even that maybe like other busts, he might not be out of football in a few years, but seeing someone who has the heart to prove himself, and try to get even better, no matter how much work...Huge Start to your NFL Career young man, hopefully it continues when the real bullets begin.

Thanks for posting. I was truly worried about some opinions of Grant being a guy that takes plays off.

I don’t think he takes plays off because he is lazy or unmotivated. I think his weight was an issue later in the 2024 season and he played way too many snaps. To put it in perspective, Graham played 548 defensive snaps and Grant played 547 defensive snaps at 340+ pounds.

I don’t expect him to immediately see that amount of action. I also expect him to be in better shape. If he works hard, the Miami heat will keep him sub 330.

Blake was probably the dumbest (IQ) player the Dolphins ever selected. They had to move him to DL because OL was too complex for him.
Was Blake the dude that did the so called "Levitation Dance"?

They drafted Blake with the intent to move him to NT right away. His pick was announced as his being an DT/NT. He wasn't very bright, though, I agree. I think he was the one who broke a bone in the top of his foot when he dropped a 45 lb plate on it.
I think in his second preseason, he got some reps at OG too, and he just flattened people.
Pissed me off when he was picked because Shula passed on Chuck Smith, Shane Dronett, and Bill Johnson. There was reportedly heavy interest in Smith and Johnson before the draft, too. But Shula decided to gamble rather than take a high-floor player. Blake was the only 2nd Round pick that year to never play a regular-season snap in the NFL.
