I know we haven't seen Drake compete at the Pro level and Ajayi has only a half of season under his belt. But who do you think is the better RB.
For me I believe Drake is going to really surprise a lot of people .he just may turn out the better RB as well.

Ajayi will be the lead back with Drake spelling him and as a situational back IMO

Agree with this. Really Gase has pretty much said as much at least in regard to Ajayi, so we are not really guessing on this. Personally i'm excited to see Ajayi in the lead role - you can almost see his attitude like "get off me!!!" with each step.

Ajayi probably will be the more complete back.

Drake we can only hope will evolve in a few years to a decent back up / change of pace guy

I hope the combo of them is like a Ronnie Brown / Lamar Miller lite combo

I think Ajayi is the starter, almost for certain. I am very interested to see Drakes progress as well, and the method that Gase has mentioned about spelling his backs intrigues me. The basic idea IMO is that a running back doesn't necessarily need a ton of carries to get hot but they do need multiple carries per drive. Gase has said that he envisions the running back that starts the drive will be the one who finishes it, barring injury or fatigue. It seems like a good way to keep a back fresh while also allowing them to get rolling during the drive. Seems like it would be tough to uphold this strategy while subbing situational players in though...

I think both backs can be good at what they bring to the table, however they have different skill sets. For me it's hard to say which back will be better. In the traditional game I would have said Ajayi, but with today's NFL involving so much passing and spreading defenses out, a back like AJayi could be very valuable.

Jay Ajayi. He's our only RB that can get 1,000 yds between the tackles.

If Ajayi goes down, we are going to be in a world of hurt.

You don't need a back that gets you 1,000 yards between the tackles. You just need a back that can convert short yardage situations and another that can get you big plays in the running and passing game. A back that knows how to convert second and third downs with four yards or less is valuable even if he gains less than 600 yards. I can't think of more than three or four backs that rush for 1,000 yards with most of it coming between the tackles. There was a time Arien Foster and Alfred Morris, both backs that fans here say they don't want, would have been on the list.

Only 3 or 4 backs in the league that can run over 1k between the tackles.... Uhhh ok

Ajayi will prove to be an exceptional back for the Dolphins. The best back we have had in years, capable of getting yards after contact and extending plays even when the holes through which to run are not there. Drake is going to be our change of pace back and chess piece for a few plays a game. But our bread and butter will be our own version of mini-Beastmode, the J-Train.

There were only seven 1000 yard rushers in 2015 and some of them made some of their yards rushing outside. WHich backs do you think get 1,000 yards primarily running between the tackles? You just don't see too many teams that will pound you with dive plays all day.

You don't see pure thumpers, Alstott/Csonka, in today's NFL

Jay Ajayi had 187 yds last year, and I included him as a RB who could get 1,000 yds between the tackles.

Very few RBs will get 1,000 yds every year. I was talking about RBs who have the ability to get 1,000 yds between the tackles.

There's plenty of RBs that have that ability, including Jay Ajayi, Lamar Miller, CJ Anderson, etc.

Our non-Ajayi RBs - Kenyan Drake, Damien Williams, Daniel Thomas, Isaiah Pead - do not have the ability or possibility to get 1,000 yds between the tackles. They are complementary pieces, at best.
