Who is your second choice if we can't get Luck?

"lethal injection" ...that's some funny ish...

matt barkley by a long shot...

I have to see Barkley play yet this year, but all the other intangibles are there for him to be a star....

He's got talent, he's athletic, he has a good arm that's for us guys.....

For the ladies he's good looking, he's photogenic, he's got personality.....

roll that into one, and you have someone who is of star quality and can get the fanbase, both men & women excited, will sell jersey's with his smile, be good for TV commercials, etc. Just the kind of guy Ross is looking for....

If it looks like Luk is out of our reach, this is the man to look at for Mr Ross & the organisation.

i don't care if he looks like shrek if the guy becomes a franchise qb...and i definitely don't care what the ladies think

I don't think Barkley is coming out. I'd probably go with RG3. He shows rare accuracy, touch, and composure for an uber athlete. After years of being the most boring team in the league we'd have an explosive talent on offense. Landry would have a rough introduction to this league. Lumbering around behind a bad line desperately wondering where Broyles is.

Not counting on Matt Barkley anymore because I think he's about 50/50 on coming out and that could be sinking as Andrew Luck and Landry Jones continue to get the hype that he doesn't. He said it himself. He wants his decision to come out to be EASY. It's not going to be. Since it's not going to be easy, I think he might default to returning to school so he can win a bowl game and look even better as some of these young guys like Robert Woods continue to improve.

Landry Jones...he's like a more awkward (younger) Matt Schaub to me. I'd still take it...but it's not an Andrew Luck. And if it come to Landry Jones then I really start to get tempted to go with Weeden in the 2nd round.

What are your thoughts on Robert Griffing III?

if its landry jones with a top 5 pick i wouldn't do it...i know that if it shakes out that way i'm gonna be kicking and screaming on draft day...but we are so much caught in a rock and a hard place we have no choice...

but i'll be biting my lip the entire time...i know that

If it comes down to Landry Jones or RG3 I'd almost want to gamble on RG3. However, I thought I heard during the game this past weekend he was petitioning the NCAA to allow him to come back for a year to get his Masters. Could be wrong.

If Luck and Jones turn out to be the only QBs that get a 1st round grade, we're ****ed.

I dont know much about RG3, but at 6'2'' 220Lbs I think he is too skinny to be a running QB. He would get crushed by LBs with his running style. Also, I'm not a fan of "running" QBs, I want a "mobile" QB.

He's bigger than Colt McCoy and I'd rather have him than any QB on our roster now.

i'm not jumpin on the rg3 bandwagon either...if we don't get luck or barkley i for one will be demorailized...

Matt Barkley, the Kid still has not reached the the type of QB he could be, and still he is arguably the 2nd best QB playing in college right now.

I feel like there is no second choice. What they have been doing for roughly twenty years isn't working. I hope they try their dambest to get Luck.

I think you could add Kurt Warner to that list too.

I guess you might include Kurt Warner. However, I didn't because he was considered "washed up" after St Louis, much like Favre and Hasselbeck and others. He resurrected his career with the Giants but he wasn't at the top of his game and the established starter when he got dumped for Eli like Brees and Bledsoe were.

However you want to call it, there sure as heck are no veteran QBs who will be FA or possible trade candidates available of the quality of Bledsoe or Brees in 2012.

1) I do anything I have to do to get Luck. I don't care if it is a Ditka type move where we trade our whole draft to move up a spot or two. You go get LUCK!!!!!
2) If you absolutely can't get Luck then we are screwed. While I am intrigued with RG3, I am not sold that he will be successful in the NFL. The plays in more of a spread offense at Baylor. He throws good on the run and has pretty good accuracy. But he reminds me a lot of Vince Young and that scares me. He has a similar throwing motion to Young and everything.
3) Not sold on Landry Jones. He tends to make some really bad decisions at times. That is not what we need.
4) Barkley probably has the most upside as a thrower, but I don't know that he comes out. If Luck declares I think he returns to become the #1 pick in the 2013 draft. He seems like the kind of kid that would want that recognition of being the #1 pick overall!

So in RECAP!!!! TRADE WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO AND GET LUCK!!!! Indy could use some DL. Offer them picks and a good DL. No not Merling. Offer them Starks, Langford, Soliai. Preferrably Soliai as he doesn't have the stamina to play enough snaps in a game. Starks, Odrick, and co. are good enough to man the inside. I actually like our line of Langford, Starks and Odrick better than with Soliai in the game. To me, Soliai still is lazy at times and will only get worse once he gets a big payday! Let the Colts pay him!
