Who's it going to be? Make your prediction now!

For the purposes of the poll, I'm going to assume Ginn, Bess, Cam, Turner, and Hartline are locks. This may or may not be true - a lot can change come training camp.

At the moment, it looks like London and Armstrong are the frontrunners for the 6th receiver spot (if we do decide to carry 6). Armstrong has shown considerable improvement and has been mentioned by Tony Sparano and Chad Pennington. He's a speedster and has tightened up his route running. He is physically similar to Ginn. On the downside, there are some reports that he drops balls here and there.

On the other hand, London was a major special teams contributor last year. But he's still a little stiff when it comes to route running, especially when compared to his physical twin Patrick Turner. He's been around football his whole life with his father a 1-AA national champion coach for the Richmond Spiders. As he says in his own words, "I knew what a cover 2 was when I was 4 years old."

So who will it be? Of course, it's hard to say anything meaningful before pads go on and preseason games are played, but this is for fun. I'd like to see which way folks think this will shake out.

I voted for Armstrong but it is a very close race. The way I see it, it is gonna come down to how well Hartline does on teams. He is supposed to be great at teams and if he is even close to as good as London then that spells trouble to Brandon. Turner is already gonna be given the chance to be the redzone threat that they had hoped London could be so if Hartline can be the teams guy that Brandon is then suddenly London has only one "hat" so to speak. This gives Armstrong a chance to make the roster.

The team really only has one WR on the starting roster that can stretch the field, so if Ginn were to go down it would be better to have Armstrong on the roster than London. So if Anthony shows up big once the pads come on, and Hartline can be as good as London on teams then I think London is the odd man out.

I would kinda miss Brandon but I can see it playing out that way. But it will be very close, if Armstrong continues to drop balls Brandon may win out. Time will tell, it should be one of the best battles in camp, along with the DBs, and OLB.

i was preferring london but your post is a good argument against him. just would hate to see armstrong as dead weight if ginn doesn't get hurt & london could contribute special teams. why can't hartline & london both do special teams?

that's right. i forgot about Wilford. if he shows promise they'll want to keep him plus to prevent a major cap hit.

i dont think in the end we will keep 6 wr's

possibly, but the back end of the roster will be comprised of players who can play Special Teams. so, i think we might keep 6 WRs if that 6th WR is a better special teamer than, say, a 6th OLB or a 10th DB.

I just dont think more than one Wr will make it because of his special teams play. I predict Hartline will be that guy,.

Hopefully, if we do carry six recievers, it will be Armstrong. Mainly because Armstrong could be used as a returner, if he proves more use in the return game than Bess.

If the hype is to be believed, then it appears that Armstrong will be the guy. I, also, am not convinced that we will keep 6 Recievers. As far as Wilford goes, if he makes the team it will be at tight end not receiver. I think that if the space is available, this office will not hesitate to cut Wilford, no matter the cap hit.

I'm with dlockz - I don't think we keep more than 5 Wr's. After all, we only activated 4 last year, and even went with 3 in the wild-card game.

I stand by my prediction and say London is traded (several teams were disappointed we claimed him) ... or cut.

Armstrong makes the squad.

I personally doubt we keep six wide receivers. I think we will keep these five(baring injuries):

Ginn
Camarillo
Bess
Turner
Hartline

If for some reason we do keep six receivers, I think Armstrong will beat out London.
