every year many fans complain about the bcs but every year it works it slef out and we always get a great game including one of the best game of all time last year and could you immagine if michigan and ohio state would have rest there player today for a palyoff

Why would they rest their players today?

If there is ever a playoff it will most likely be a four team playoff, and losing a game could knock you out of the top four. So they wouldnt rest them, that point isnt valid.

Not to mention things DONT always work themselves out. Auburn should have had a shot a couple years ago and Rutgers could go undefeated and not even have any chance at all.

We need a playoff system.....look at Boise State..they may run the table and get no shot.....is this fair??? NOOOOO.

maybe an add one but still usc was by far the best team in the country that year

who needs a playoff
Anyone who's a fan of college football, and anyone who wants to see the National Champion properly crowned... Unless you think every other sports organization has it wrong by using a playoff. Hey, if you think more subjectivity and less objectivity means a better system, then all the power to you. You must be living a very happy life.
I mean, who doesn't want to see college coaches, that don't even get to watch the other games, vote (undisclosed) on who gets to play for the national championship?

Arguments about a playoff system being bad because it would lessen games like today's OSU/Michigan game are absurd.
How many times have two arch rivals faced off as 1 and 2 this late into a season?
How many other games this week and next would mean even more if there were a playoff:
USC/Cal
USC/ND
UF/Arkansas SEC Champion (if one loss)
Rutgers/WV

So, one game is lessened, but FOUR have even great meaning.

George Mason. Buster Douglas.

Nuff said!

I would actually be in favor of a 4 team playoff on top of the standard BCS games. They could have the two semi-finals in BCS week and then the national championship the week following, which is when the nat'l championship will be played this year anyway, so it'd only be one more game, pretty much diffusing all this "can't have a playoff in a sport this physical" crap.

Having said that, a 4 team playoff would only push the controversy that currently surrounds the 3rd and 4th ranked teams back onto those ranked 5th and 6th that would still miss out on the playoffs.

All those kids did was go out and do their best to win games, and they did it every time out. They didnt decide who they played, so is it fair to punish them for going out and winning?

Im not saying they are a good team or should be a top 10 team, just saying they only did what they were supposed to.

I prefer an 8 team playoff, but a +1 would be a huge step in the right direction.
There would still be controversy, but even doing a +1 will lessent the margin for error in a system ruled by far to much subjectivity.

Well it's not just about "punishing" those kids. The kids playing for teams that play a respectable schedule deserve every bit as much respect. It's the universities that are being punished, not just the kids. If you want to be considered for the NC, then you have to ensure that your team plays a schedule deserving of such an honor... especially if your conference doesn't provide that level of competition.

Im not saying they should be playing for a NC or anything.

The kids didnt make the schedule though, they just played the games. They won all the games they played. So they should get some level of respect from people.

A playoff will NEVER happen.

A plus 1 game is very possible and probably will happen for the next contract as long as the SEC doens't block it. And since NOT having a plus 1 always seems to hurt their teams......I'm guessing they have changed their stance on it.

Iono but it would be nice to have like a 8 team playoff.

Ohio State
Michigan
SEC Winner
USC
Notre DAme
Big East Winner
ACC Winner
Big 12 Winner

LoL even with this, still no room for Boise State . . . nothing seems to work.
