Well folks, looks like Dan Wilkinson will be playing for the fins this year and hopefully will be ready to play against the Steelers in the first game. Manny who?

Dan Wilkinson in Miami??

So lately the Dolphins and Wilkinsons agent, have been talking about a deal. Hopefully we will have this guy soon, i remember in Washington he did really well. But was he any good for Detroit? I was under the impression that he wasnt doing real well the past couple years. Obviously he is a sure upgrade over what we have though.

Your thoughts on signing Wilkinson?

Well in my opinion he was surrounded by a bunch of underachievers and it brought his level of play down in Detroit. The power of positive thinking and a winning attitude in a locker room like the Dolphins have can only bring the best out of Wilkinson.

wilkinson will definatelly help us in the middle, i have high hopes for some of our young guys but a proven veteran who knows his role will be a great help for this season, i hope he's in camp this week

hes fat as hell so he will plug up the hole d line ... so wer good on rushing d the way i look at it

I don't feel that either statement is that accurate (visiting Lion fan, here). Wilkinson did have help in Sean Rogers, but he also taught Rogers, who was possible tradebait his second year, how to play the position. Since then, Rogers has gone to the probowl.

Wilkinson has done well, here, but was not asked back by the current coaching staff because they're trying to "clean up Dodge" and emphasize people wanting to be there. Wilkinson has some business that he wanted to attend to, and hinted at retirement as an option if the coaches insisted he attend all of training camp. What you're looking at now is that the real season is closing in and Big Daddy will have gotten what he wanted, missing camp for his business ventures. But some of our guys are regretting that he will not be there to be paired with Rogers and our line (the only solid squad on our D) will suffer.

If Dan has some game left in him, you'll benefit from it... I think. He wasn't let go from Detroit for performance but for morale.

Id almost rather see what Fred Evans can do after that great game he had.......

Yea but with Traylor in there, u need a guy like Big Daddy who can rotate with him, and maybe later on in the season form a very intimidating DLine with Big Daddy, Traylor, Taylor and Carter. Evans performance is very encouraging and he will be hopefully a future starter for us, but man just thinking about TRaylor and Big Daddy in the game cloggin up that middle brings back memories of them Bowens/Chester Days.

What I noticed was we had a lot more 4-3 and 5-2 formations than 3-4

Probally because Taylor was out but who knows

You know Capers won't show much of his scheme in the 1st pre-season game. I also think Big Daddy would be a great addition to the team. i was happy with Evans' preformance last night, but I'm not ready to pencil him into the defensive rotation just yet. Wilkinson is a big run stuffer with questionable work ethic, similar to Traylor, but both show up on Sundays.
