Who Parcells will take NO 1.

i just dont see how people arent sold on Jake Long...we NEED an RT, and Parcells has yet to make a move for an RT, and if we dont trade our pick, whos gonna be at #32?? Cherilus may or may not be there.....and im not sold on Anthony Collins..

Jake Long gave up 2 sacks his entire high school career, and i think its 2-3 his entire college career. Gholston dominated him on ONE play, but thats the ONLY play Gholston got by him...

Jake's combine's numbers were REALLY good, i believe better than Joe Thomas's.......hes about the same size if not bigger than Joe (idk one site says that Jake is an inch taller)....and finished ahead of Joe in last year's best offensive lineman award...

yet some of u think Jake is nowhere near as good as Joe Thomas??? We shouldnt even be talking trades, we should nab Jake Long now that we have the chance, sign him now.

somebody please explain to me how Joe Thomas is a better OT than Jake Long when Jake finished ahead of Joe in the best OL awards last year. the ONLY thing that Joe has on Jake that i know of is NFL playing experience.

We'll they say you don't draft a right tackle at #1 but BP knows what to do and how to do it. I like us to get the other Long but I trust in BP and JI and they know more then all of us on these boards.

I am surprised fishypete created the title and posted this article. I would have never seen that coming.

Maybe it would be more accurate to title the post - Opinion: Who Parcells will take NO. 1

jake longs feet are the problem. its the biggest difference between him and joe thomas besides the arm length.

I believe anyone who reads that article gets the picture...of course it's opinion...but an opinion thats from a person who knows Parcells...and I believe that could carry some weight.

Definitely does although I think Lombardi is kind of an ***. However, I think Lombardi ignores some key points about Parcells history though, namely the fact his affinity for the OLB position. He mentions the trade of the 1997 pick but with the Jets needing a tackle so badly, why didnt he take Pace? He didnt net that much in a trade. All he got was an extra 3rd, 4th and 7th on top of swapping firsts. Not exactly that much. I know the jets were cap strapped at the time but still could of netted more. Same thing with Walter Jones. All he got was an extra fourth to move 2 spots. Not the most endorsing move for someone of Jones caliber. He was offered a trade from seattle to move from the 8th spot but took James Farrior instead. What Im driving at is that, if Parcells did not have a strong conviction on two players who were more well regarded, why would he now?

Different teams...different times.

I agree with that article..

If we stay at #1 there are only 2 choices Parcells will be contemplating.. Long or Long. Nothing short of that.

Jake not only has longer arms, but the muscles attached those arms are much, much stronger
