Ok now that Arrington is a Giant. Should we sign a free agent or should we get someone from the draft? Wat are our options? I heard there is other good LB's in free agency. Why not sign one of them?:dolphins:

we probably wont sign anyone since we only got 4 Million in our cap not counting harrington

Bobby Carpenter is who Miami should get now.

I imagine Nick will do some bargain shopping after the draft among the remaining unsigned rookies and veterans, but that's it.

(I'm counting Harrington as a bird in the hand already. Maybe I shouldn't, but that's the way I see it.)

harrington and CHAD JACKSON!!!!!!...i pray we get him..chambers booker and jackson..think of the possibilities!!!! : )

You can pretty much imagine the possibilites with just Chambers and Booker because Chad will continue the Gator WR streak of busts. He's a workout warrior and little more.

i have a slim feeling he will be the emmit of receivers.....since both went to the university of florida..also he will start a new trend for gator receivers...either a fact or just a hope....

I think that there is better 1st rounders than Carpenter. He is a steal in the 2nd round but we lose out there. I like Wimbeley, Sims, Greenway, or Ryans for OLB. Also like to keep Santonio Holmes as my wild card.

if we draft a WR in rd one i'll be disappointed. you dont pick 3rd string recievers in round one. we need help on defense. we need to get younger and more solid depth on D. i want a LB plain and simple.

The likes of Wimbley and Lawson (not that you mentioned him) don't cover well enough if you ask me to be full time linebackers in this scheme. Maybe if JT wasn't here, they could play that hybrid end/linebacker position. That isn't where we're at right now, though.

Sims is too small for Nick's 3-4, particularly when there is already one LB playing who isn't the ideal size.

Greenway could certainly be the pick. Nick seems to be suggesting he wants somebody to rush the passer who can cover. Greenway's specialty is coverage. It's not an exact fit, but Nick could decide that he would work well enough.

Ryans is a nice player, but he doesn't have the size or the pass rushing ability Carpenter has. He's a damned smart player who will work for somebody. I don't think it will be the Dolphins. I also think he's the guy most likely to fall to round 2 out of Carpenter and the guys you mentioned.

Kamerion Wimbley tested very well in coverage drills at the FSU pro day. He's certainly athletic enough and he has the fluid hips required to be able to cover.

Wimbley, Bunkley, Lawson, Carpenter, Simms, Greenway or Allen would be nice.

Draft Lawson!

Sims is too small

Wimbley wouldn't be a bad choice

Greenway didn't show up at the combine on his 40 or his bench....and I've heard he has had problems shedding blocks.

Has he done it? It has been my understanding that he has not.

That's why I see him as a situational player only. Showing fluid hips and doing drills well doesn't necessarily translate to covering a NFL tight end or running back. It seems to me that Nick already found a guy in Hodge he can gamble on becoming more than just a situational rusher.
