gus or sage?

and on another thought we need Booker back in the lineup, Gilmore is NOT an every down reciever

I think they start Sage, I can't believe they put gus in after this game. I do bet you will hear something about Gus' injury keeping him out for the game to avoid a QB controversy.

They'll blame it all on Gus' injury...but there's no way Saban doesn't start Sage.

Play the hot hand, right?

I think they need to give Sage another shot at starting. Even though he is going to be starting against SD that has a pretty good D, it time to see what he really has. I dont think he is really the QB that we seen in Cleveland. Everybody is going to have a bad game or 2 hopefully that was just his bad game. With the amout of confidence that he is going to be coming off with after this game, I think he's the logical starter. But I wont be suprised of Gus takes the first snap either.

Gus will start if he's healthy. The concussion doesn't worry me, it's his finger. Beurlein said Garrett told him Gus has a hairline fracture.
Gus denies it, but would he fess up?
You could tell it was bothering him, the way he was looking at it during the game.
It would explain why Gus stunk yesterday.

We need a poll on this one.

I say start Sage. Sure, he totally **** the bed in Cleveland but look at yesterday! They just need to keep the pressure off him. I'd like to see us work out of the no-huddle a lot. He seems to do that well.

Dude,

Frerotte has sucked regardless of his finger for the last 12 years (mostly). Call it a day and live and die with Sage for the remainder!

Nowadays it rare for a player to play the week after getting a serious concussion. Gus's looked pretty serious.

Yeah, Gus was knocked out cold for a few seconds. That is like a second degree concusion, and there is no way he will be back for the next 2-3 weeks.

well Mor made a good point in a earliar post...Sage was in shotgun the whole time he was in...i dont think we can do that the whole game

Dude,
Gus didn't suck last week against the Raiders. If he's hurt, start Sage.
And you don't last 12 years in the NFL if you suck.
Look at Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Akili Smith.
A healthy Gus gives you the best chance to win.
Next year, we'll have a new QB and this will be moot.

I don't think the Cleveland game was indicative of his play, but I also don't think yesterday was either. Very unique situation yesterday, coming off the bench with really nothing to lose and no expectations, against a poorly coached Bills team playing prevent and trying to sit on a lead, ala Wanny. I think Sage's game is somewhere in between, and I doubt he'll ever be a true starter in this league.

That being said, he should start against SD with the injured Gus excuse. If he doesn't quickly and miraculously play Brady-esque football, I doubt he'll be here next year. They'd keep Gus I'd think to help teach the system to whoever they bring in to be our New Franchise Quarterback.
