Ok, nobody seems very confident at all in our current QB's, and everyone seems to agree that we should draft a QB high in next years draft but Rookie QB's hardly ever start their rookie season. So my question is..........Unless we get Drew Brees, or Phillip Rivers instead of Drafting a QB, who plays next year??? Feeley is unlikely to still be here because of his cap hit, Frerotte.......... I don't know if he'll be here either, and Sage just may still never get his chance. So Do you think it would be wise to pickup a Tim Couch Now, so he can play NEXT season, or do you have any other ideas????

Depending on how this team finishes the 2005 season, we'll be drafting our new QB in 2006....

If we play better than expected, keeping ourselves out of the top 5 in the 2006 NFL draft, we could always make a move on QB P Rivers as well....

Right now, although I don't want to have another losing season, it may be worth it in the long run. Only if we're able to get a franchise QB like USC's M. Lienart though....

The Leinart / Brown / Chambers trio could be very dangerous, and thinking about it gets me excited. Is another losing season, around 3-13 / 4-12 worth the risk - reward situation????....I think it is, and considering this is Saban's first season, the expectations will be less than they will be a few years from now.....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I would rather get Jacobs. I know many are sold on Leinart, but I am not. I think he is a good and potentially great qb, but he has bust written on him to me. I said that this offseason before he stayed. I dont think he throws a good out and I dont know what his hunger level is. We could go between 6-10 and 8-8 and still get Jacobs who I feel will be the real deal. That is unless he blows up big this year then he could be top 5.

how about this Brown/Jacobs/Ginn Jr because if we have a bad season we will get high pick( jacobs) then he will need to devolope resulting in a nother bad season (ted Ginn Jr.)

just a thought hope we don't have 3 bad seasons in a row

Man, people are only so high on Lienart because of that one great game that he had. But anyway this wasn't my question......... My question is who will start next season if we do draft a QB. Will it be one of our current QB's or should we pick someone up(Couch, Davey, etc....)so they can play NEXT year untill that rookie QB is ready

I guess the thing to do would be to start Frerotte this year and midway through the following season, at which point our Rookie QB(I want Jacobs) would take over and never look back.

any way we can get Brian Greise back??

LOL

Why is it that he started to play good the last few games and he was coming back from injury, but we decide to cut him loose.

I was a strong Fiedler supporter, but when they let Griese go I was scratching my head because he would have played solid for us and kinda did the last couple games if I am not mistaken.

Who knows, Ramsey, Harrington depending on their play this year might be options. Tim Couch is an option now.

If we stink bad enough Leinart.

However I don't see us having any shot at Leinart in the draft, I still have hope on the season.

I mean yes, both QB'S have played equally miserable so far. However, niether has played a full game. Who knows how they would play the 2nd half of the game. Many games have I watched where the QB stunk up the joint then came back stellar in the 2nd half. Once they adjust to the defense and settle down they look alot better.

IMO u can't judge anyway till a real game that counts and is a full game is under their belts this year.

LOL or we could always pick up Couch.

Let Rosenfels start the season and if he stinks play couch by week 7 or 8.

Let's face it it looks like a QB qill be our 1st round pick next year.

We have come to the conclusion niether Frerotte nor Feeley will be here next year. Let's see if Rosenfels has anything and then see if Couch has a shot at the NFL again. It couldn't hurt to try these guys when we know the 2 we have are bad.

Honestly if Couch or Rosenfels throw incompletions or INT'S they are still already better then Frerotte and Feeley because they aren't getting returned for 6.:yell:

I'm not sold on Jacobs yet. Great numbers, but his mechanics are extremely flawed. I also keep hearing comments on him about him being a better passer on the run than in the pocket. A quarterback should be at his best from the pocket. Those are some things that I want to see this season. I want to see the release, which is not quite Philip Rivers but not over the top either. It's almost like he shot puts the ball.

I still say the quarterback that everyone needs to watch is Paul Pinegar at Fresno State. He's got the size you want in a quarterback. He is experienced in a pro style offense at Fresno State under head coach Pat Hill. Pat Hill also coached with Nick Saban in Cleveland, so there is a coaching connection.
