Right now, I'm kind of leaning towards Spiller because our runningback situation could turn into a problem, depening on what happens with Ronnie Brown. Ricky Williams is playing for 1 more year, and then he's retiring. Spiller IMO will be an excellent player.

The trouble with that pick is that we are in desperate need of talented defensive players at NT and at any LB position you choose. If McClain is there, than I think you pretty much have to take him. However, I do not believe he will be available at 12. Dan Williams I just don't know about.

Then of course there is the possibility for Dez Bryant to be at 12.. I don't really like the idea of taking him, even though he would help Chad Henne and the offense immensely. I just don't want a reciever at 12, especially with the help we need on defense. If we take on offensive player at 12, It better be Spiller or Dez Bryant. Spiller IMO would be a much better pick.

Defense is obviously the biggest need, but I think our pick will really depend on what happens in free agency. If we land Vince Wilfork or Karlos Dansby, then Spiller or Bryant would be an excellent pick. However, I think niether of those things will happen. If one is to occur, I imagine it would be Wilfork.

Just a couple of things to think about. Thoughts?

picking a rb or wr in the first is stupid... any rb could do well with this o-line and could be picked up in the later rounds... and wr is too much of a risk... when all the glaring problems lie on the defensive side of the ball, it is idiotic to spend a first on offense... all offensive picks are second day moves

Hey, I completely agree. But Spiller would be an excellent player. When in doubt, just go out and get a good player.

I really like CJ . . . . but we can't take him. We need an impact guy on defense.

In order of preference assuming they're available.

Berry
McClain
Bryant
Spiller and trade down
Spikes
Hughes

that's probably true, but not a lot of RBs have the ability to scare defensive co-ordinators. Spiller does IMO.

McClain or Spiller! I prefer to trade up a couple picks for McClain, but would be happy with Spiller at 12! Bryant would be my third choice!

bryant or McCLAIN and if there both gone bpa

I agree, but we also need an impact guy on offense. I think we need to go defense, but if our targeted guys are gone we should consider CJ (or Dez).

The draft is such a crapshoot that if you find a playmaker (Spiller) its almost irresponsible not to take him, regardless of our need for a D playmaker. this decision gets even easier considering we have no offensive playmakers either.

I have a feeling the McClain and Dez Bryant both won't be there. I think passing on Spiller could haunt us for a long time... If he's there, I feel like you have to pull the trigger. I hate the idea of not taking a defensive player at #12, but a guy like Spiller could wind up being a lot like Chris Johnson, who returns punts and kicks...

that 100% mirrors my opinion. Thomas and Spoon would be good players fro us, but Spiller is something special.
