First off, the Dolphins control their own destiny. Win out, and they are guaranteed a wild card. But just in case they lose a couple along the way:

RAIDERS over Chiefs - this would be huge as the Chiefs hold the tiebreaker over the Dolphins

FALCONS over Browns - Cleveland is a game behind Miami, but still a threat, plus Josh Gordon is back, so you never know if they can make a run

BENGALS over Texans - this game really depends on who you think is a bigger threat down the stretch. I think the Bengals have more talent, and can win their division if they get healthier. But if the Texans go on a run, they could rack up a nice AFC tiebreaker record. I want to see Cincy take down Houston here to essentially knock them out of contention. One less team to worry about.

JAGUARS over Colts - Indy has this division locked up, but I'd like to see Indy exposed. Jacksonville isn't going anywhere.

LIONS over Patriots - if New England loses and Miami wins this weekend, we control our own destiny to win the division.

RAMS over Chargers - we already own the tiebreaker over San Diego, but a loss here for them could be the nail in the coffin for them. One less team to worry about

JETS over Buffalo - sucks the Bills lose this home game, but a Jets victory here would deal another blow to a potential playoff team

SAINTS over Ravens - Baltimore an obvious threat

That's it this week - the others don't mean much. It's still pretty early to be talking playoffs because there's 6 games left. Miami could pull a 2013 and lose games they're supposed to win, and all of the above is moot. But I'm assuming the Dolphins go 10-6, and if all of the above happens this week, we'll be in great shape. Thoughts?

I think kc winning last night would have been better. We need to beat Denver anyway and owning a tie breaker with them would be better than a tiebreaker with KC

there's still the option for a three-way tie where head-to-head doesn't apply, unless one team beat the other two. any KC loss is good at this stage.

Cincinnati is ahead of us in the standings so I would root for the Texans. I understand the OP reasoning but I'm more worried about the teams ahead of us than the ones behind. Just keep winning and Texans are no threat

probably the best game of the season i have seen last night...a thursday night terrific game...it takes big brass ones to call a qb sneak on 4th and little more than a yard...i mean big ones...but the play call before it was just awful...if you know you are gonna go for it on 4th down the 3rd down play call should be a run on that short a distance...they kept trying that bootleg and the 34 olb houston never once took the bait...i thought they had ruined themselves when i saw that play call on 3rd down

good lord did the raiders attack that #38...i mean torched that guy...i enjoyed that raiders win like i enjoy our wins...

All those things are possible but like last week, it won't happen the way we want it. I'm pretty sure at least 2 or 3 of those games won't turn out the way we'd hope.

The three most important games:

1. Dolphins over the Broncos: still a very tough task despite the injuries. We are primed for an upset.
2. Lions or Pats. Lions will have to play mistake free ball, which I highly doubt. Go Reggie Bush and Megatron.
3. Saints over Ravens. Huge game for the wildcard race. Outside of our game, this is the most important game for our playoff hopes this weekend.

I'm rooting for the Dolphins and Lions on Sunday.

Will the Saints lose three in a row at home?

The other team we really need to lose is Pittsburgh but they are off. But like I have been saying, I'm not too worried about the north. Those teams are going to knock each other out of it. As long as we beat Baltimore, no real threats to us from the north teams.

i think the lions are gonna get rolled sunday...that's not the same team outside of their building...
