Who was the best Dolphin's head coach? (besides shula)

I don't really know. Johnson was good for the D, and if he'd have spent time building the O half as good as he built our D, we would have had something special.

Johnson or Sparano...probably Sparano though, just based on the job that he did last year.

1. Shula
2. Sparano
3. Johnson
4. Wannstache
5. George Wilson
6. Cam Cameron

Is how I'd rate them.

if i were to make a list, it would look similar to yours.

1. Shula
2. Sparano
3. Johnson
4. Wannstedt
5. Wilson
6. Saban
7. Cam

Jim Bates doesnt count and i only put saban above cam because i cant put a coach on a 1-15 team not on the bottom of the list. even though saban was a ... jerk. better coach then cam.

Too soon to call TS a good coach and I still have little respect for JJ as he ruined Dan's last years but he did draft some good defensive players.

I'd go with JJ because he also did the drafting. If we are talking about just coaching, I would have to go with Sporano.

only shula
Parcells is not coaching officially, so that s the end of that discussion
however, I think Shula & Parcells are the greatest foot ball minds in the history of the NFL

Forgot about Jim Bates too...if only for a few games. Hell...I'd rank him above Cam and Wilson.

What most people forget that Wilson was the first coach and had many players that contributed to Shula's early success. I would put him above many of the other coaches. Cam would definitly be on the bottom for me. And Saban would be right there with him. They could fight it out who was worse.

My list would probably go something like this.

Shula
Johnson
Wilson
Cam
Saban
Wanny

Although I might even drop Johnson below Wilson just because he left us with Wanny. Wannstadt had to be the worse in my book despite his teams winning records. He simply was not a good coach or talent evaluator. I think with the teams he was left with a monkey could have coached and probably done just as good a job if not better.

I have to say Wannstadt. (ducking) Sorry! The cat won a nice bit of games. I love Miami's defenses during that time. (But yeah they were with JJ's players) True.....so should Cam Cameron get some of Sparano's credit......some of these players are Cam's players.

None. Hopefully Sparano will be the next great Dolphins coach -- too early to say obviously, but he looks good so far.

Since Shula we've had a who's who list of a cow ****. So I wouldn't call anyone the 'best' since. Maybe the least destructive instead. I'd say Johnson.

1. Shula
2. Sparano
3. Johnson
4. Wannstedt
5. Wilson
6. Saban
7. Cam

Wannstache should be at the bottom in my opinion, he was here the longest thus had the heaviest hand in the destruction of the Dolphins. Saban was obviously the biggest douche, but he didn't really hurt nor help our team, just an out an out douche. Cam was a terrible football head coach, so you could make the case for him being at the bottom.
