I'm trying to forgot about this so this is the last time I will mention it. I was never a fan of drafting him and I doubt I ever will be.

Pat White did well in college. In college he was fast. In the NFL he is fast for a QB but is too small to break tackles. He is a WR who can pass trying to run the ball

He is 25 pounds lighter then Mike Vick. He does not have the strong arm that Vick does.

Here are some players we could of had over him.

Connor Barwin OLB
Phil Loadholt OT
Max Unger G/C
Mohamed Massaquoi WR
Paul Kruger OLB
Clint Sintim OLB
Jared Cook TE
Chase Coffman TE
Jarron Gilbert DE

These are the ones off the top of my head. I would love either TE, Conner Barwin or Paul Kruger, Unger or Loadholt and even Mohamed Massaquoi (he IS a Bulldog after all)

Take Pat White a round or so later and I have almost no problem with him.

Also, partly from being a Homer and partly because he is a much better WR, I would have taken Louis Murphy over Pat Turner.

Could of should of would of....... All water under the bridge now. If the the FO missed on this pick time will tell, for now lets give him some time and see whats in store.

Some of you people that post on here are unreal. Yea, I'm a fan of the kid (am a WVU grad), he is an amazing guy on and off the field -- more of a fan of him off the field because he is a good person, never got in trouble, always said "we" and not "I" and so forth. Will he be successful in the NFL? I hope so, but nobody knows how things will turn out. As the other guy said, it's water under the bridge and a done deal, why ***** and moan about it now. If he is a bust he is a bust, but we wont know for a couple years.

Pat was a project, and a luxury pick on top of that, and Parcells knows that. NE and Bellichick had flown him up there not once but twice to work him out, and with all their 2nd round picks they had I think BP wanted to grab him for what Miami is doing and on top of keeping him away from a division rival. Oh and another thing, PW didn't go to LSU in college because he felt Saban was a creep -- at the very least you have to know he is a good judge of character. ;)

As for those who post here who want to crucify the kid for missing a pass. I don't hear those same guys complaining about Sean Smith (who they gush over) who should have gotten beaten for a td his very 1st snap in the NFL by Matt Ryan who guess what....missed a wide open receiver for a td. Guess who else did, Ben Roethlisberger missed a wide open Mike Wallace in the 1st Q of the titans game on the 3rd play of the game--wide open by 5 yards for td, Aaron Rogers missed one too the other day and overthrew him. It happens to even the best players, I mean if he sucks three years down the road then you will be right. I swear it seems like some people want the kid to fail so they can be vindicated and say I told you so. At least give the kid a chance one way or another to prove himself.

How many Pro Bowlers did we pass up for Jamar Fletcher?

Yeah we could go back and do this with every pick in every draft. So could every other team in the NFL. Pointless.

Thinks its way too early to be breaking out the 'look who we could have got instead' threads

Clearly, the 2009 draft was a disaster to the point that we should can Sparano, Ireland, and Parcells. I wonder if we can get Rick Spielman back. I hear Eddie Moore is available.

I'm all for just putting a tarp over Dolphins stadium so we can just forget about the season and the team that plays there. The loss to the Falcons was just too traumatic for us Dolfans.

Excellent post. I personally don't care if we have John Goodman starting at QB, so long as it leads to wins and eventually Superbowl titles. Yes, we could have gotten other good players instead of White, but we didn't, so I say lets give the kid a shot and see what he can do. Despite what seems like an obvious bias from your posting name, you write a very balanced, objective group of paragraphs about White. They could use stuff like this in the other "White sucks, we should have picked XYZ..." threads. Then again, it seems reason isn't something appealing for a large group (NOT ALL) of the posters here.

While we're at it, lets just gut the team of its young, developing talent and take the Redskin approach. Any free agents looking for a big payday just come on down to Miami. We'll spend spend spend until we're strapped down by the salary cap, then watch our product on the field momentarily shine just before it SELF COMBUSTS! We can rename Stephen Ross' last name to Snyder and all will be better in the NFL world. Superbowl here we come;) Love the sarcasm NashPhin:hi5:

Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?

I know alot of you are upset that Pat was the #2 QB for the opener and a few more livid he over threw Ginn.

It could be worse White could've been drafted by the Patsies and then the whining & woe is the phins would risen to a whole new level.

Give it a rest already, This is crying over spilled milk & whats done is done.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Nick Saban (Satan?) was supposed to be a savior for the Dolphins and he picked Jason Allen #16 overall in 2006. He's sort of playing special teams these days I guess. You never know for sure what you're gonna get with draft picks. Just like with kids I guess. Really good parents can STILL have sons or daughters who turn out to be losers even when they get every possible advantage over other kids.
