It makes more sense to have Cleo as our backup. Right now, Cleo is much more familiar with the offense and its players,and in all likelihood gives a better chance at winning. Beck has a lot to learn still and there is no need to try and rush his development by putting him in when he is probably not going to be ready to play. Also, if Green gets hurt or plays like crap and ends up getting benched, it will give Cleo the opportunity to go in their and show what he is made of. And if he plays well, which I think is quite plausible, we have the options of being able to resign him/ extend his contract OR (what I think is the more likely scenario) trade him for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or whatever round draft pick after this season is over. Those are just a few of the reasons I think it would be far more advantageous to have Cleo as our backup instead of Beck this season.
