Who will Back Up Seth at Center?!?!?!

John St. Clair or maybe Tim ruddy back from retirement?

From the early report, Hadnot...

I'd like to see John St. Clair get his shot at C.

I don't want to move Rex Hadnot from right guard.

I would think Hadnot would be a logical choice with St Clair being a distinct possibility since was a C in college.

I would think that St. Clair will get a shot since he was an All-American center in college...My hope is that he outplays McKinney and Smith becomes his backup...but if Smith can't play for several weeks, he'll have a hard time making the squad...

The papers all say Hadnot would be the backup...that's fine too, but means moving several guys around to accomodate him...Still would love to see Hadnot, Smith or St. Clair outplay McK for us...

If St. Clair can't hold up at guard, why do you think he'll holdup in the NFL at center..he gets manhandle everytime at guard, the guy's a Tackle.

I still say we need to bring in Fontenot and\or DiNapoli or even Contay. Not only to fight for backup jobs but to even give Seth a little challenge. Dinapoli is really the only one who could chanllenge for starting job but the other would make good backups.

I also think St. Clair needs a look there. I know he's struggled at G but makes a good swing backup at T. He was alll-american C I believe in college. Give him a shot.

Honestly though. It is possible for Wade to play with a broken arm. I just haven't heard which arm it is or if there is also tendon or nerve damage. Those things could make a big difference in figuring out if he can still play.

First of all, nobody even knew if he had a good shot at being the 1st or 2nd string C since he's making the switch. If Saban anticipated him making the squad, who we go after will depend on how long Smith is expected to be out. If he's only expected to be out 4 weeks, I'm sure no one will be signed. If it's more like 10 weeks, we will probably go after someone.

If they want to save a roster spot, then St. Clair makes the most sense, but for now I bet it's Jason Thomas, who has done an OK job in camp so far.

I'm sure St. Clair will get some practice time now at Center.

I like Hadnot to get a shot at center. I know fans want to keep him at Guard, but i would like to see him get more reps at center, and see what he can do. It will be interesting to see if McKinney makes the squad as a back up.
