I read in one of the local papers it was for his weight and an obscenely high collesterol level. They were so scared he was going to have a heart attack/suffer from heat exhaustion they put him on the PUP because they new something bad would happen if they let him practice.

I was looking that the scrimmage pics someone posted and I can't even tell what the freak Sparano is doing to the O-line. I see Pouncey at Center, Allen Babre at LT, Berger at LG, Jerry at RG, Colombo at RT...some with Garner at LG, Carey at RG, Matt Kopa at RT...it a freakin cluster.

I'll tell you this, if Colombo starts at RT for the season opener he won't be there all year. It will be musical chairs with the O-line like last year where every spot between Long at LT and Carey at RT got switched up at some point last year.

I can almost guarantee that if the OL flounders again this season, Tony Sparano will be looking for another job at season's end. Besides his field goal, play it safe philosophy, nothing represents his coaching philosophy more than the OL. He better coach up the OL like his career depends on it, because it does.

Personally, I find the signing of Marc Colombo one of the most discouraging aspects of the season. He is old, injury prone, and ranked 76th of 78 OTs last season according to the Focus website. The fact that 4 years in, we have older, slipping players on the right side of the line does not bode well. Just like last season, Sparano hand picked John Jerry from Senior Bowl week practices. Jerry is flat out Sparano's guy. And he may not make the team. This many years, and we have two building blocks on the OL for the long term, Long and Pouncey. And my grandmother could have done that if you invest those picks in those two guys.

Sparano has been incoherent with the OL. He needs it fixed or else Ross will get rid of him. This is not FH dementia. Take it to the bank. Hopefully, for everyone's sake, Murtha has had the light switch come on and he can be a viable answer at RT. That could be a step in the right direction. Colombo is not.
