Who will be covering Moss and TO?

It's now obvious that the the starting corners will be Will Allen and Sean Smith. I'm just wondering who they will line up against Moss and TO? No doubt that Smioth has the skill-set to eventually handle these guys, I'm just wondering if the coaching staff wants to give that responsibility to a rookie right of the bat. Thoughts?

I agree with this statement. Will Allen may be the #1 CB on our team but I would rather have Sean Smith use his size and athletic ability on these guys then using the shorter Will Allen or Vontae Davis.

I don't disagree, that is just what I saw last year. W Allen, Goodman and even J Allen all covered Moss at times.

Against the Bills:
TO vs. Smith, Evens vs. Allen, Hardy/Reed vs. Jones

Davis still looks a little bit behind, by the second half of the season he takes Jones' spot

I think Davis has looked better in coverage than Jones - especially during the 2nd and 3rd preseason games.

Allen already showed that he cannot cover Moss. Locksmith is our only option imho. Even if he makes some mistakes, it will be good for him to learn.

Smith on Moss/TO is a no-brainer. We put J. Allen on Moss last year, and though he got generally torched, he matched up from a physical point of view fairly well.

As for Welker, I like putting Davis on him. At least Davis can get super physical with him and maybe keep him from getting off the line...rough him up a bit. But in the end, I'm sure Welker will make him look silly....

If all our defensive packages left our CB's in 1on1 man coverage I could see your point or if you are referring to Madden 2010. Our CB's play zone coverage, blitz, man to man, etc. Moss and TO will see double coverage. We'll roll safety help to that side.
