The Miami Dolphins traded Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall Tuesday to the Chicago Bears. Vincent Jackson, Reggie Wayne, Robert Meachem and Pierre Garcon were all taken off the market quickly on the first day of free agency. Miami is reportedly interested in Dallas Cowboys free-agent receiver Laurent Robinson. He had a career year replacing Miles Austin last season. Can Robinson be the No. 1 receiver for the Dolphins? Or will Miami look to the draft? Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon is a top-10 pick. The Dolphins hold the No. 8 pick and now have a huge need at receiver. Should this be Miami’s next target. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/39678/poll-who-will-be-miamis-no-1-wr

I think Blackmon will be gone. I like Floyd, but probably not at 8. I'd assess the needs of other teams and seek either a trade up or down and take a shot at either of those two. One of those guys with Robinson or Manningham at 2, running the Packer's offense might be pretty good.

ok ok i will do it guys. youve talked me into it. i dont have an agent but pay me 100000 and ill get my ass beat for this team

I think this is our best case scenario. I'd take a trade down to grab Floyd with Manningham as our other receiver

I am starting to think that a Philbin/Sherman/Green Bay offense doesn't have to have a true #1 WR. The idea is to spread the ball around, so I don't think we will be seeing a Calvin Johnson/Brandon Marshall type receiver here any time soon.

you still got to have a go to guy that can win consistently against top corners...not guys who will get locked up by em...losing marshall makes life a whole lot harder for the guys who stayed...they don't have to roll coverage to marshall or account for his big body anymore...and if you bring in a bunch of smurfs teams will look to punish them every time they touch the ball and they'll struggle to get off press coverage with physical dbs...

I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility to trade up for Blackmon.. Possibly swap 1'sts, give our 2'nd and 4'th to do it. Then we could sign Robinson or Manningham... all of a sudden Hartline as a #3 and Bess in the slot doesn't look bad at all... Draft lineman with our 3'rd round picks and sign a few more FA

Correct. The offense is designed to move the ball amongst 5 targets without an emphasis on a "#1" WR.

I agree.
