I want Bush returning punts but I'm pretty sure thats not happening with him being #1 on the depth chart for the RB spot.. And I'd say Gates should be and will probably be our kick returner.. I love Bess as a slot receiver but please keep him away from returning kicks... Any ideas?

Gates should be the KR.

And if Bess is returning punts.... just wow. Bush may be the starter, but I bet he rarely ever eclipses 15-20+ carries. He needs the ball in space as much as possible, so he needs to be back there returning punts, IMO.

I have a feeling they won't use Bush on ST as much to keep him healthy for the offense.

Edit: I don't mean never, I mean not as much as the other guys.

So who would be another guy thats good in space? Sheets? Is grigsby good in space? Is gates just a burner or does he have moves too?

I'd be very disappointed if they don't use Reggie at PR. Bess is a good player, but he's no return specialist.

Sleeper...lets not forget Livas. I dont know if they want to use up a roster spot on him, but if hes electric an KR and PR. If he could contribute to other special teams they MIGHT (doubtful) give him a roster spot. If he wants a spot though he better be impressive in the preseason

kick returner is not really needed as it used to be. Kickoffs have been moved from the 30 to the 35 yard line - so kickoffs will end in touchbacks most of the time.

The NFL and the owners wanted to limit the huge collisions and injuries that occur on kickoffs. Kickoffs caused a lot more injuries than punts.

Gates/Sheets will be the kickoff return guys. Bess will be the punt returner unless we need a spark or big return, then Reggie will be the Man! IMHO

I think it'll probably be that lineup as well. Maybe Carroll on an occasional return. I'd like to see more of Livas too

Gates or Livas will be returning kicks for us this year. I haven't seen much about Gates kick returns but Livas was an all-out stud returning kicks in college. He took 8 kicks to the house! To me, that kind of impact is well worth a roster spot, if he can do it at the pro level. I don't know if you will see him a whole lot in the preseason returning kicks though...he may just mysteriously make the team. If he does, you heard it here first, the man can return kicks with great vision and some nasty moves!

I think Bush will be used in situations on punt returns like Ginn was(basically only when we need a big play) and it really doesn't matter on kickoffs anymore.
