Fafita and Baker were cut recently. Who is next?

My guess would be Vonnie Holliday
yep, I just really don't see where he is in the plans at all, even if you consider a strong 5-7 man D-line rotation. I know he signed that contract extension last offseason so on the other side I don't know if we can afford to cut him. Then again, he seems like a solid veteran Parcells type player. Just real eery why he has been nonexistent in talking about defensive plans.

Vonnie is toast...and too bad to. He was a valuable guy, he did everything asked of him. I wouldnt be heartbroken if we could trade roth for a 6 and keep Holliday.

I think Holliday is very underrated. He is a stud DE. The problem was the idiots before played this hybrid D and Holliday got stuck moving inside to DT. He was too small playing out of position. He is a DE and on this team would be the #1 DE IMO this year. How can you cut him?

Matt Roth gets axed way before Holliday. What does Roth do? He has been a bust IMO. I agree a DE gets booted but Roth is of no value there. He may stick for camp because of his low salary but no way will he take a roster spot over the new guys. RWright is perfect size for a 3-4 DE as well. I say Roth is the next bigger name to get the boot.

Patrick Cobbs, Edmond Miles.

Cobbs sucks and Parcells drafted his backup backs.

And Edmond Miles has no place on this team. He's not good even in a 4-3. He is greatly undersized at 6'0 230 for a 3-4 Linebacker. And he has no place on special teams as Parcells already brought his guys in here to take his spot as he wants to clean out the crap we had on ST last season .

Roth will go before Holliday. I doubt that Porter is going anywhere soon...he's the only true OLB we have...perhaps in two years when his replacement learns the position.

I agree....money is always the issue in this.

Perhaps a better title for this thread would be "Who is the next "name" veteran to be cut, or who is the next starter from last year to be cut ?

Cobbs, Miles, Kelvin Smith, Robinson, Ninkovich, Courtney Bryan and hopefully David Martin

idk about smith he might hang around he played a solid 3-4 ilb at syracuse under our current defensive coordinator

I don't see Smith getting cut. I think his old college coach Paul Pasqualoni is going to give him a chance this season before parting ways. The next veteran will probably be Vonnie Holliday.

Wasn't he already let go?

I'd say Cobbs too. Porter isn't going anywhere. I'm curious about what the cap hit would be if we let Holiday go. ?
