I think you might be right. It seems like Saban likes Welker in that 5th reciever spot. And Gilmore has outplayed DT. We might keep the extra wr though since welker also returns kicks. Im more curious to see what happens with the rb position, although an extra person wont be cut there till ricky comes back.

Thats the one good thing thats come out of the power outage. As for the RB situation it looks like this 2 me:

1) Ronnie(for the 1st four games)
2) Wicky Williams
3) Sammy Morris

It wasn't good news for Thompson last Saturday when Gilmore had snaps with the first team. IMO, Gilmore is a much more fluid and versatile player than Thompson, not just better hands. I'll give Spielman credit for finding Gilmore late last preseason.
