Two options, everyone is all over Louis Ellis.. and then you got my boy Soliai, who's got about 40 lbs on Ellis, and 2 years of experience, plus a higher draft day grade. I'm not doubting Louis, if he can beat out Soliai, then we have something special. However, please don't hop on the Ellis Bandwagon just because Soliai has 6 career tackles.

Kickin off the Poll with a Soliai vote.

Tony McDaniel is our 3-4 DE. At 6'7 315lbs, He's too tall to get good leverage in the middle. He does have the size of Canty, and could flourish at this job. Jeff Ireland has also announced McDaniel as a 3-4 DE prospect.

**Forgot to add Joe Cohen, count him as 'Other' since I can't edit the poll.

Soliai has to get his act together, he could be great, but if he messes up again....... Ellis won't let the opportunity go... IMO

I think Soliai better step up his game, because even though he's very raw, the only thing that's going to keep Ellis off this roster is Ellis.

I take Soliai's victory here as a given. The question is whether Soliai shows enough improvement to be considered versatile enough to where the Dolphins can justify also keeping Louis Ellis on the roster.

But don't count out Joe Cohen. Both Cohen and Ellis were highly recruited out of high school and Cohen played in the SEC where Ellis was just supposed to play in the SEC. Cohen has good athleticism too.

Wow, i completly forgot about Cohen, he's on the PSquad, so I'll get away with it. However he COULD, even though he's only about 300lbs.. Fergy is like 305, but i think our team would like to add size ontop Jason.

Ill add Cohen while the poll is still early, thanks for the insight CK

Everyone is hoping for Ellis (including me, but I'm really just hoping for a promising young NT to be on this team), but I think it's going to be Cohen.

Cohen isn't on the practice squad anymore...as of the start of the 2009 NFL calendar season (first day of free agency), the practice squad doesn't exist. Cohen's under contract same as "Big Lou" Ellis. Second year Cohen's gone to camp with Miami, too.

If they wanted pure size I don't think Sparano would be so obsessed with getting Big Lou to lose weight. He's about 315 pounds right now. Sounds like Sparano wants him down into the 305 area.

I would like to see Ellis win it, but it sounds like they may be wanting him to lose weight. In that case, I don't think NT is even in his future.

they probably want him to lose weight to maximize his strength and speed.
They probably want Soliai at 340ish, he was over 350 sometimes, probably why he got suspended...

I'm shocked and upset with how much people dislike Soliai here.. He should be winning 14-3

Getting suspended twice for being overweight tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth. I'm not shocked. But when I saw him play a little, he made some plays. He piqued my interest.

Is that why he got suspended? man i must be living under a rock or something I didnt know the reason behind it...thanks for the update lol

I say Cohen. If not for a injury he be starting in San Fran. He was a 4th rounder and plays with good leverage.
